I am new here. I have started to date a man that I have known for 18 years. He is pretty much the perfect man. He treats me like a queen. COMPLETE opposite in every respect then my ex. We are very very compatible. Here is the issue. He has an ever roaming eye. I can deal with a glance and the thought of wow she is hot but not much past that. Last weekend him and his brother, with me sitting right beside him, made comments about women at a hockey game. We are mid 40's. I was rather pissed to be honest. I would think at that age you would A) know better and B) be able to control yourself, and C) repsect me. I lost some respect for him to be honest. Why do guys do that? Do you see us elbowing our friends saying "did you see the package on that guy?" or "wow did you see the way his jeans fit around his manhood?" YOu don't see it because we have more respect than that. I would NEVER make him feel any less of a man by doing that. I do not want to lust. My eyes are only for him. Ok....so you all get the point. I obviously have to speak to him about this. I want pointers as to how to do it and then why men do that. I am told all the time I am attractive and have done some modeling. I am fit for my age and can turn heads. So why would he need to look?

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

For westerners, this is the other side of the world, where everything is exotic and unfamiliar. Piracy is still a problem on the Java Sea, and English is not widely spoken. The Java Sea is about 1,600 km long, 400 km wide, and loiters loosely between the islands of Borneo to the north, Java to the south, Sumatra to the west, and Sulawesi to the east. The equator is a few degrees north, so...
This is a boundary issue. Defend it or he will cross another one.
My hubby likes the "chest" area of the women. I have seen him look a few times....sometimes when I am sitting across a restaurant table, I will just wave my hand.....and say "hey, I am here"......just enough to know I noticed and make him be more aware. Maybe start out small with something like that.
But, as for the "obvious looking"....other guys may be able to answer why they are more outward than women are and don't care who's around.
I do agree that you need to let him know you felt disrespected
well I am here to tell you that not all men do that.
Lots and Lots of men don't.
Personally I would NEVER date a man who acted that immature.
It is totally disrespectful and juvenile.
I would tell him straight up to knock if off or you will walk.
Well.... say it nicer than that! LOL!!!
I would suggest that you choose one time when he is being blatantly disrespectful in public and then slap him during the act, literally, hard enough for it to sting. Don't even say anything unless he is stupid enough to ask why you did it. If he asks, tell him unmistakable and calmly that if he wants other women that badly, he can have them, but not you. Then, never, ever, mention the behavior to him again. If he still does it so much it bothers you, find a better mate.
Personally I wouldn't recommend any form of physical violence towards anyone.
Faithful777 I am getting MUCH better at boundries and I like your advise. I lost all sight of boundries in my first marraige and that ain't happenin' again. Trust me I have known him for so long and don't see any other red flags.
You can't teach a pig to sing, and you can't talk sense into a jackass.
Another question I have for you is did both of you explicitly agree you are now "dating"? It may sound like a silly question but sometimes people aren't on the same page. Don't assume.
Good luck!
