I've known a man for two years now, and just a couple months ago decided to give him another chance at a relationship with me because he had shown me changes and effort. Now I barely hear from him. We both have kids, and with the pandemic it's been stressful for both of us, but I don't feel like he's making any effort towards me. Even when everything was closed, he could have found a way to have dates. And now things are open again and nothing has changed. Normally I would say I'm not a priority or he would find a way, and if he wanted to talk to me he would, but I've tried to rationalize that these have been difficult times and to be patient. We used to talk several times a day, or at least once, but now I may not even get a text let alone an actual call to talk. Have I been patient enough, or do I just give it some space and see what happens?

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

You said you were giving him another chance at a relationship because he had shown you changes and effort? Does this current behavior show that he is making the effort now?
You wrote that you've tried to rationalize his current behavior, but you don't need to make any excuses for him, He is choosing his actions or lack of actions.
I'd probably just leave it alone, and if he contacts you, see how you feel about him then. You don't have to settle. Especially in the beginning of a relationship. That is the lovey dovey time and lots of communication and both wanting to get together all the time.
So my advice is keep your options open you can reach out to him and try to initiate a conversation but don't chase him if he is dry or dosent respond take it as a sign .
In your journal write down everything you would like to do being single, and every where you want to go being single.
Then write down why to each one.
Finally write down everything you can do that is silly while being single, and very thing you can do that is super serious while being single.
After it is all written down read it all over again with a pen in hand and circle anything that speak to you about yourself.
I'm sorry you're feeling discouraged, I understand. But don't give up; there's a guy out there who will want the same level of commitment and relationship that you do. Who will want to be with you every day for the rest of his life. Don't settle for less than that. God bless
