No relationship is perfect. A long-term relationship requires constant effort to understand each other, fix misunderstandings, solve problems and continue to grow as both individuals change and evolve. My husband and I are complete opposites so it has always been a challenge to not only find things to do that we both like but also to not kill each other in the process. We enjoy games, like playing pool, ping pong, horseshoes, bowling, golf, etc. I think that can only work if both people like competetion and both have decent skills so one person isn't always clobbering the other person though.
We can't travel as much as we used to due to careers and having a dog that we don't like to leave, so now we take a lot of day road trips to different towns and cities.
We live in a neighborhood that has a lot of great restaurants and bars so we tend to just walk to a place and hang out with each other. Exciting, no. Creative, definitely not. But we both work a lot and don't have much time for each other after work so that's how we get back to us and reconnect on the weekends.
