My husband and I have been married 1 year been together for 5. He has not emotion at all!! Never compliments me, never romantic, never affectionate, we don't cuddle, don't hold hands, we don't spend anytime together I feel like we are roommates ... I have been bringing it up to him more and more which then he will try for about a week before he stops again but even when he does i can hear and feel how much he is forcing himself do it. I have tried everything I know to try to get him to understand I need more in this marriage I need romance and a spark every once in a while. He gets mad at me says he hates my nagging all the time when all I am trying to do is get him to see how I feel. It's out anniversary tomm and he said he honestly has not even thought about it at all. I feel like when it comes to me he does not think about me at all he does not WANT to be romantic or any of the above. I don't feel important to him, don't feel wanted, and although I know he loves me I don't feel it. I feel stuck. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am slowly running Onto him.. o have stopped trying to hold his hand, cuddle, do anything normal relationships do... in a lot of ways I have given up.

Look at what my best friend did with my picture!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Focus on the positives. What does he do that you like? My husband shows his love by spending on me. Instead of cuddling he is willing to buy me things that make me happy. He is just not a very emotional or romantic person.
Have you been doing things together, such as outdoor activities and sports? Do you share a similar hobby or passion? It's important to find many different ways of bonding.
When you were dating, did you notice his behavior or did he change drastically once you got married?
You say that you know he loves you...when do you notice his love for you? What are the daily things he does which show you that he cares? Does he accept you fully or does he also nit pick at your behavior?
Has he always been so reserved or is this a recent change?
For the last 10 years there has been no sex , affection or any type of physical touch (with the exception of an occasional peck here and there) After so long, I resigned myself to that's the way it's gonna be and I completely shut down and was doing just as he (hubby) was....going through the motions with virtually nothing to look forward to. The thing is...he is content (comfortable) with the way things are. I have always done everything else so basically his needs (that mattered to him) were being met. Unfortunately none of mine were (are)
He is the same as your husband...unwilling to do anything to change or try to improve the situation The deal with your son's bedtime then he immediately needs "his " time. (in my mind if he really did care and was willing to try.....he could spend at least part of that time with you first) They don't seem to understand how this makes us feel. (like we aren't important or even cared about)
You are much younger than we are. I was just curious if you hubby was older than you? (A friend of mine whose husband suddenly lost interest went and got checked out....at her request.... For him his testosterone level was low. He's now simply taking a med (or some sort of supplement) and they are doing well. MAYBE it could be something like that for you guys?
I will cross my fingers and say some prayers that he may come around or that you may find some answers for what you want and need and how to possibly get them. You are far too young to be sentenced to a life like this. Good luck.
You say you know he loves you, however from what you wrote he doesn't sound very loving. Now you need to do a pro and con list to ask yourself if you want to spend the rest of your life with someone like him. I always say tomorrow isn't promised to us and we don't get do overs, so we have to live our lives to the fullest, even if that means we have to let go of people who aren't lifting us up!
Your husband may need to be told more specifics than you need more spark and romance. That is very vague.
He was not affectionate at all and also had to force himself to try to be. It was bad, but I am lucky that he changed. and even though I stayed and waited, I don't necessarily recommend that, because you don't know that things will be better.
I think it's important for you to reflect on that your love needs are. If he cant love you the way you need, maybe you should move on. It doesn't make him wrong for being the way he is, it's not about being right or wrong, it's simply that you both have different needs and require different things to feel loved and wanted. You both deserve to feel that way.
