I like to go for a long walk and I find that gives me the space I need. If the weather”s bad just going to the other side of the home for a cup of tea and a book works too.
When each person is taking care of themselves they will feel more positive about their relationship. Exercise, eat right with plenty of water. Reduce time on mobile and internet.
There are plenty of home remedies and if both of you are committed to a healthy lifestyle they should help.
Arguing is frustration at feeling out of control. Trying to take one issue at a time and working out a solution instead of piling everything on each other all at once will help too.
We never had therapy but we spent a month in a yoga retreat in India. There was an exercise we did to improve communication and maturity. You sit facing each other and look into their eyes for three minutes. (an egg timer is perfect) then one person starts (coin flip) and has three minutes to say whatever comes up with how they’re feeling. No interruptions. Then the other person, and here’s where the maturity comes in, while continuing eye contact repeats back what they heard without judging. As in, ‘what I hear you saying is,,,,’.
Then that person has their three minutes to express, and so on. It’s really effective.
Good luck.
If you think therapy will help.... You can always go on your own.... It can still help you a great deal?? perhaps
The only person we can ever change is ourselves so it might be a gift to you....
Big hug... I'm sorry that you're struggling right now
