Yeah, if you've been living together that long, you're basically common-law married anyeay. Maybe it's financial? If so, you can have separate bank accounts, etc. and still be married.

Sorry to be the lawyer do not know about states but here there is no such thing as a common law marriage. That is a misunderstanding civillians sorry none lawyers often have. If not governed by Matrimonial law all elationships are based on basic property/land and contract law. Sorry to be boring.

Yeah. In Texas common law marriage does occur. It can be as simple as living together as for a day or two. Such an example could be, mind you could be - presenting and registering as husband and wife in a hotel for one evening.
