Healthy Relationships Support Group
No relationship is perfect. A long-term relationship requires constant effort to understand each other, fix misunderstandings, solve problems and continue to grow as both individuals change and evolve. How we deal with our misunderstandings is the focus of this community. Join us to find support, get advice, and share your experience with your relationship.

But, hey, keep clutching at straws.
Our emotional health is analogous to our physical/nutritional health. We all have daily minimum nutritional requirements - the minimum amount of vitamins, minerals and nutrients that keep us healthy and our bodies working their best.
We all have minimum emotional requirements - the minimum amount of affection, support, validation, understanding, etc that keep us content and our emotional well being at its best. Every one's emotional requirements are different - I may require more or maybe less affection than another person - but it is up to me to find what meets my needs.
And if someone can't or doesn't meet my requirements, it is always best to cut my loses and find a someone who can. This is why "just settling" is counter productive.
