Ways to tell her: 1- tell her, 2- show her(best).

Stop think about love as a feeling and start thinking about it as action, something you do.

The reason I wrote this is because, I have always been faithful to her, we have been married 29 years. I have always told her that I love her each & everyday. For our anniversary this year I wrote her a nice letter & got her gifts & a card. Never got anything from her, I write her letters a couple of times a month just to let her know that I am always thinking about her & how much I love her. I do all kinds of things for her constantly each & everyday, I guess what frustrates me is that even when I send her text messages on the phone it seems like she won't answer or it takes her a couple of hours to do so. then they are short answers, she says she loves me but she really doesn't show it to me, I even asked her to just stop & sit down & write me a letter, she won't even take the time to do that. I'm actually beginning to wonder if she is seeing someone else.

For what it's worth:
My husband is the poet and romantic in my marriage. I'm the pragmatic engineer (literally). A good set of socket wrenches impresses me far more than poetry and roses. The genuinely impressive romantic gestures women and sometimes even men so frequently envy me for trigger my fear of entrapment and. . . Ouch. Please forgive my nature, Babycakes. Am I remembering right that you once loved that about me?

After 38 years, it remains a difficult balance for us to achieve between us.

Has her behavior changed recently? Or has she always been non-romantic?

It's changed lately, probably in the last 6 months. I just don't know what to do anymore, Don't know whether to say anything to her about it or just play numb. The last couple of evenings even though we are in the bed together, she stays up on her phone doing Facebook & Pinterest, & think even texting someone, but not sure & I'm afraid to ask her to see her phone cause I don't want her to think I don't trust her, but I'm not sure if I do?

Is she interested in date nights? Do you laugh together?

I've tried date nights, I try to plan something, even tell her to leave her calendar open for a certain date then something always seems to pop up on her end. Somethings I understand at other times I just don't know what to say. Like tomorrow is my birthday, I'm not even sure if she realize it or what cause she told me she going out with a friend of ours to visit her friends son in jail, which he is, but she said that since there was nothing going on tomorrow it would be ok so she made plans to go.

If you are afraid to talk your own wife THAT is a problem. I would not start that conversation with suspecting she is seeing someone. Start with telling her how you feel when she seems unresponsive or distracted. I don’t think continuously telling your partner you love them is real communication. Talking with each other on a deep level about the state of your relationship and what you both want for your relationship is, and really hearing each other is.

Well it seems she is not giving you full attention or taking your activity seriously done from your side. She showing like she need space from you for some time or gap.
Ask her to settle down every thing whatever negativity present into her mind. Whether you both should move on or be there into same relationship.
If all this hard work doesn't improve your relationship then finally meet some counselors to suggest you both right path.
