Hi, I'm hoping it's ok to post this here? I don't know if this forum is strictly for romantic relationships or not. If it's the wrong place, please let me know and I'll remove it.
Ok, I'm newly single and living alone for the first time. I'm trying to recover and get my finances and life in order. I'm very nervous, and just trying to get myself together.
My new neighbor came over with a welcome basket- wow, very nice right? Not.
She won't go away. She's recently divorced herself, and has told me she's bipolar and "proud" of it. She won't stay away. I've tried to be polite. She wants me to work for her in a business that so far is in her head. She wants to come inside my home and invites herself over. She's asked for me to sell her my property, and though ive repeatedly told her I just got here, she never stops asking me nosey questions. She tried to fix me up with her deadbeat brother. She's tried to buy my friendship several times, and has made demands on my time and attention. If she wants to rearrange furniture, she now calls me. I don't want to move her furniture. I want her to leave me alone.
She's a chronic over sharer, telling me about her sexual abuse and all kinds of other personal information the first week I met her.
I'm not her therapist, and I really don't want to hear all her business.
My upbringing told me to be nice to her, but I can't take it anymore. I'm going to tell her to go f*ck off if she doesn't stop.
I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but how to get someone to leave you alone and stop invading your privacy?
Any ideas? I sure would appreciate them. This woman is a nuisance.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

I agree to be firm but not aggressive.... She's your neighbour and unless you want to move you don't want an enemy next door
I would no answer the phone unless you feel like it and the same with the door... If she mentions it I agree with 11Christmases to say that you are tired.... or you really need your space and have anxiety.... Even if it takes a while she'll get the message even if she doesn't want to.....If you see her outside I'd wave and say 'Hi how are you' and keep walking if you feel like it... It sounds like someone you'll have to assert boundaries with... Big hug and a blessing....xo
You need to go "No contact" with her, as you would in any other relationship with a bothersome person.
She's just irritating- like a 16 year old in 58 year old body.
Their lifestyle over there is much different than mine, very open door policy with people coming and going all the time.
I like my privacy, so I really made every excuse for her but when she asked me how much income I have and got very personal I became seriously annoyed.
And no, don't call me at 10:00 pm and ask me if i want to go out dancing at some bar. Not for me. No matter how many times I tell her I'm healing and I'm not interested, she just doesn't get it.
And JeanaRose thank you for taking the time to respond. I also disagree though. I'm not going to twist myself into a pretzel to accommodate this woman, whatever her issue is. Thats terribly unfair to me. She's got to back that truck up, bipolar or not.
God Bless
