Can narcissists be kind and apologize

I have a question about narcissists since I believe I living with one.
I want to know if narcissists can be kind and even apologize to you?
Today my partner apologized after when I explained him that I did not like it when he put me down in front of our daughter . . . He than apologized. Which I found weird since he does not do that! ! He also said that he feels I care that I brought up the love letters I found and brought it to his attention and that he liked it with tears in his eyes! however I find if strange that he would say that.... (see topic "did he cheat) I should mention that I am currently not sharing a bed with him, and staying away from him as much as I can. . . .
Please see posts (stupid question and I need your support ) to have some better understanding on this. . .
Is there a possibility that he is actually changing? Or is that the way narcissists work to get something back?

Look at what my best friend did with my picture!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I read your previous post and this one.I don't think anything has changed, or that he wants to. He is using this apologetic behavior to control you. I would not trust it. You need to put your child (and yourself) in a situation where you are not treated this way. Read "the verbally abusive relationship" by Patricia Evans and this will bring to light some of what is going on in your relationship. Another good one is "in sheep's clothing" George Simon PhD. About manipulators. They explain it so much better than I can, but this is in no way a healthy relationship. He threatens to make you leave to one up you, He knows you are dependent on him and are afraid to be on your own. This is a terribly mean game he is playing with you and his daughter and is ALL about control. I know as I have been exactly there, married almost 16 years to someone like this and actually married someone with these issues again (not as verbally abusive) but with narcissist tendencies for the last 7 years. You seem young and that you have a lot of life to live. Do not let fear keep you in this. This type if person rarely changes. Impossible without them admitting there is an issue and professional help. This behavior just gets worse over time. He will make it miserable for you and your daughter and make you feel like it's all your fault. Good luck with all this and prayers for peace.
Until you experience this kind of care, you can not even fathom the cruelty of a narcissist.
When my current BF does something that is upsetting to me or sees me in a bad state, he is CRUSHED. He expresses empathy in such ways that he literally does everything he can not to cause any problems because of how painful it is for him to experience guilt and shame from causing pain to another human being.
A narcissist/sociopath realizes what they SHOULD be feeling, but they are actually not feeling it , this is why they continue to lie and cheat.
If an empath cheats ( it does happen sometimes ) , this person will lose weight, lose sleep, they go into deep depression, they constantly beg for forgiveness and will stop at nothing to prove to their partner how sorry they are. Usually it is not reparable because of all the emotions involved and even then this person will still carry feelings of guilt and shame for years. They will grieve and wait quite a while to have another relationship.
The narcissist will move on rather quickly.
If you suspect that your man is a narcissist, it is very unlikely that he will change and they are so good at faking emotions because they need to fit into the normal world.
Accept the apology, but start keeping tabs on actions and not words . You will see that the actions and the words do not match.
I am so sorry.
