Healthy Relationships Support Group
No relationship is perfect. A long-term relationship requires constant effort to understand each other, fix misunderstandings, solve problems and continue to grow as both individuals change and evolve. How we deal with our misunderstandings is the focus of this community. Join us to find support, get advice, and share your experience with your relationship.

Part of our history of male privilege puts added pressures on women to protect themselves from very real dangers. It is possible to over think and assume that a guy who seems wonderful has some fatal flaw that will emerge or be discovered too late, or that this fellow is actually so wonderful that you don't deserve him and over time he will discover a fatal flaw in you. If you don' t have a lot of red flag worries about his behavior and you have seen him in a variety of settings and see pretty consistent positive behavior toward you and other people, feel blessed that he sees wonderful things in you, too. What are your main concerns? Making some mistake that hurts you or him or your other friends or family? In most relationships we make the mistakes that help us learn to be better at caring loving and comunicating. Sometimes we spend a lifetime learning that together and sometimes we learn and move on. It sounds like you have an opportunity to love and learn. You have an opportunity to let this fellow show you with his listening how much he values you and your best ideas and deepest fears. If you need supports to make it through that discussion, how about getting a counselor? If you are planning a long-term relationship that might be a great investment in each of your futures.
Have a great adventure, and make wonderful mistakes.
