As far as expressing amorous feelings, though, only took me 3 dates to really feel sufficiently relaxed with her, and a feeling that SHE wasn't going to freak out and run for the nearest exit if I touched her (she liked it; she was like a dying plant in need of a little water...adores the neck rubs, back rubs and caresses of her hair). Once I got the sense that SHE needed to be touched, didn't flinch, and liked it, gave me the courage to really relax and enjoy her.
I likely take months to really open up to a woman. It would depend on what she did to help put me at ease. If I knew she could listen without judgement, I would open up faster.
As far as admitting I had feeling for her... yeah, pretty much the same timeline there too. Guess I'm a slow mover.
I just sit there and think "you've gotta be kidding me!!"
I even told him I loved him on several occasions and he would just say "aaaawwww".
Well once we reached the year point I got tired of it. Tried talking to him about it and never got a direct answer.
So I broke up with him.
IMO if you don't know by the 1 year mark, well then you probably don't love the person and it's time to move on.
Oftentimes, we're blinded by our own infatuation, and we don't REALLY love THE OTHER PERSON, we just love how WE are feeling at the time. Seeing them in their true colors, and still being fond of them, warts and all, takes me a few months.
It's a great way to get burned though as i've found out recently.
