You said it: He doesn't want to spend time with you as much as you want to with him. Accept it or move on to someone who does want to spend as much time with you as you do him.
I don't know why he feels that way, maybe because the harder you cling, the more he gets scared off and turned off...
You have to find another activity or person that brings you pleasure, be it a hobby or a friend.
I have been in situations like that. Usually, sorry to say, but the guy doesn't give a crap about you are in or not; or have someone else on a line or from the past.
It just doesn't worth it. This sort of relationship will do nothing but hurt you constantly, bring your confidence down and in general would make you feel like no one ever will desire you right, leaving you in a broken, worthless state.
If it is love on your side, you have to realize - it is unhealthy love. Unless, of course you are addicted to pain.
Love yourself, you worth it and you worth better.
He is treating you poorly. I m so sorry :-(
If you don't want to just immediately exit the situation, try making other plans and not saying anything to him. Let him come to you, but keep yourself busy and having fun in the meantime. Maybe he has felt smothered and just needs to come around in his own time and if he doesn't really say anything to you or make any attempt to initiate plans, you'll have your answer...no matter how painful that may be. The sooner you can figure it out, the better...wasted time can't be gotten back.
If he prefers to hang with the boys, that is what he is telling you, without using words. By staying with him, you are allowing his behaviour, and setting yourself up for constant disappointment.
A man who is in a relationship, and caves to the invitations of his male buddies on a regular basis is telltale. The writing is on the wall.
I wish you well.
Why did you break up after 5 years before if you don't mind me asking? Did he exhibit similar behavior before? You've only been together 6 months this time around and for him to already choose his friends over you and only make an effort to see you twice a week says a lot to me.
I think you should reevaluate what you want and if you are willing to settle for this. If you can accept that this is your life with him and be okay with it, then continue. But, if you feel like staying in this relationship will continue to hurt your feelings, maybe you are better off moving on and finding someone who values you enough to see you more than twice a week and not constantly blow you off for the boys.
(((HUGS)))
Whether it's the guy I'm thinking of or not, it is clear the guy in your description is not as interested in spending time together as you are. You already have a long history, if he were going to become the partner you wanted I think it would've happened already. Make plans with your girls, don't wait around on him. If you want a partner who spends more time with you, which you of course are entitled to want that, then consider changing what is in your control, which is to chose not to settle for his leftovers. Big hugs to you.
If you'd only been together a few weeks, him hanging out with the guys on the weekend, no big deal. But based on your previous post, you've been with him for 5+ years. And for whatever reason, it did not work out (you, him, both-we all make mistakes), but some things will not never change...
The only thing within our control, is our own actions (and even that somewhat limited),
Sure, you have a right to be hurt, maybe he's hurt too (hence why he's been keeping his distance). But this has been going on long enough... You're young, don't have kids together, re-evaluate your long term goals (without him), and move forward. move on...
