Snippy, hang in there. I'm going throught the same thing with the TSH being where Dr wants to med and won't budge no matter what I say. So, I am going to do exactly what they are advising you to do - print out material and take it with me as I "interview" the next potential doctors. You are being proactive Snippy and if I haven't learned anything else its that only you know how you feel. You are doing the right thing by arming yourself with information. You go girl!

Yes Cathy she is an end. I'm going to go with my husband to Houston this week make some phone calls about a second opinion and try ans see a doc. after the 20th. But you cab bet I'm not going to change my meds till them. At 7.5mg of the Meth. I feel good. I'm just so pissed. These people call themselves experts.

The information can also be found in a continually-updated online thyroid textbook maintained by several endos - one of which is the co-author of thyroid textbook "The Thyroid and Its Diseases".

The site is called "Thyroid Disease Manager".

The problem with linking the appropriate section of the site is that it's very hard to find the information....it's contained in the Thyroid News 2007 section and you could spend half the day scrolling through the articles to find it.

I agree with other that you really need to find a more thyroid-savvy doctor.

I fought like heck with endo #2 who acknowledged the article but, still had unrealistic goals for my TSH.

Endo #3 acknowledge the article about post-RAI mortality in that same Thyroid News 2007 section enough to stop recommending RAI and instead push surgery. She, too, was "stuck on TSH".'

My current doctor told me the words I knew I had to hear: 'We know to ignore TSH in Graves' disease".

Thank God I found her before I went hypo because, with my TSH .011, I would have never received the much-needed thyroid hormone replacement Rx from any of my former endos.

Well, I was going to help Snipy look for good ones, Cindee, but I guess CD opened her well organized file cabinet and just pulled it out!

I have an insanely large number of links.....it got so out of hand that I actually divided them into folders......general thyroid....hypo....Graves'....T3 thyrotoxicosis and I just recently created "frequent thyroid links" lol

This all happened out of necessity due to me suffering under the care of clueless endos....and my desire to help prevent others from the same fate.

Thanks for the research CD - I plan on printing out as much as I can as I start to "interview" doctors. I figure if their philosophy is different from mine and not willing to acknowledge what is out there and how a person feels, I'll be moving on.
