This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Just Checking in on the grand parents. I remember in 2012 when I first got my 1 year old granddaughter. It was rough. She's almost an adult now and doing ok. She's driving now and looking for a summer job. She'll be graduating high school in 2 years. It gets better! Hang in there and make your self-care a priority.

i didn't inherit my grandkids until 2019 when my son and his wife were killed in a traffic accident. they were 6, 3 and 8 months at the time. i was 65. it was a major shock for all, but time has flown and healing has happened.
