I need some advice I have been having a lot of bloating and chest pain/pressure. I also will eat only half of a meal and I will feel really full. My doctor sent me to a cardiologist for the chest pain but so far my heart seems fine. Also I have asthma which has been worse lately and I heard that heartburn can make asthma worse. The doctor is also going to check out my gallbladder. but still waiting on that. So I was wondering could the bloating, and feeling full after half of a meal and chest pain/pressure be GERD/Heartburn?

I would get your gall bladder scan done but do the pipida scan because that will tell if it is non functioning do you have nausea? Have you lost weight?

Actually I have lost weight and have had occasonial nausea. I believe that my doctor set me up with an ultrasound appointment for my gallbladder tuesday. Any info would be appreciated.

I had these same problems and it was my gallbladder. I had it removed about 4 years ago. I still have the pain sometimes, but the other stuff is a little better.

Just a thought here, when you went to your heart Doctor, do he/she put you on any new medications? Or are you on any new meds recently? Some meds will make you feel bloated with fullness along with nauseation. The pain in your chest could be from many things, and yes Gerd can cause chest pain. Have you had an Endoscopy to see if you have and ulcers or hiatal hernia or an Cardiac Catheterization to see if you have and blocked artery causing your chest pain? These are two tests you may want to ask your Doctors about. Let us know what happens and hoping you will soon be feeling better...

I have the same problem. I have asthma and acid reflux and I have been getting chest pain and pressure as well. What are you taking for the GERD? Alot of PPIs cause stomach pain, especially Zegerid.

I am not on any medication at the moment other then tums. I had an ecg done last week and I have a consultation with the cardiologist on friday, I hope all goes well. I just had an ultrasound on my upper abdomen to look to see if I have gallstones my doctor should get my results on thursday. She may run further tests if it is not getting better (which it is not). I appreciate the advice. Thank you.

I was just reading online that the too little stomach acid can cause the symptoms you were talking about. They recommend having a test done because majority do not suffer from over production of stomach acid but too little.

I have GERD for a long time now I also have IBS, that is probably causing your bloating and pain, Probably need to have a colonscopy and get checked out.

I am sure your heart is fine at your age it is highly unlikely you have any heart disease, I would think it is probably the GERD causing the chest pain and pressure which are common signs of acid reflux. Do you burp alot, feel any burning in your throat, get referred pain in your arms or back?

Thank you guys for all of the comments they are greatly appreciated. I don't burp a whole lot but I do have burning in my throat and arm pain. I am going to mention to my doctor what you all have said and see where she wants to go from there.

if you have a problem with constant pain and pressure and not being able to eat a lot a one time, you might have a problem with gastroparesis, thats where the stomach has difficulty emptying and food stays in the stomach for long periods, its what causes the feeling of fullness so fast.....ask your doc about it there are a couple ways to check it out
