Well im not all the way out, I am only out to Friends, and some family, but most of my family doesnt know im gay. Ill tell them when im ready, but i know they wont accept it,becuz they already dont accept another family member who is also gay.
First off good job for coming out to your friends and some family though! lol and umm I am out to my parents and friends...not to like my extended family because I'm just not ready yet. Im sorry if they wont accept you for who you are *hugs* but it's their loss ya know?
congrads im out to my mom and sister im scared to come out to my dad , some of my cousins , most of my friends , half the skool{ thats cuz of rumors and shit spread around so yea} my grandma but like she doesnt take it seriously some of my aunts so yea the journey has been hard ,its sux ,but the feeling of finaly finis the shit of pretending to be something that we r not , congrads to u to cody
wow u guys was it hard i havnnt told my parents and im scared to do it i dont know how to do it or wen is the right time to tell them..how did they respond to wat im goin to tell them...how did ur parents react?
both my parents took it bad but my dad the worst. my friends back home knew I was and they were completely there for me but I live in a new city and nobody knows now but all you can do is be yourself and if they don't love yu then forget them!!!
i am not out of the closet.. i dont have the guts, well i do, its just that i want to tell my parents first .. especially my mom, before i go and spread my pride.. but for now im content with my closet open, even though im not stepping out, but still when the time comes .. im gonna go all out and crazy.. lmao
im not out yet, if i do, my parents will kill me and probly kick me out, my bro and sis will freak out and not even talk to me,idk about my friends, probly will leave me. only a few of my friends know, and im scared to come out.
well. i came out to my best friend about 2 weeks after she came out to me. and then i realized that I am me and no one can or will change that so i came out to all my friends. and then i built up enough courage and told everyone at school (well the people i talk to)
well my sisters found out and told my mom, and my mom came to me about it and seemed angry well i told her the truth and it was hard...the hardest thing i've ever had to do in my life...well eventually i came out to everyone bc i realized that i want to be me and i don't want to have to hide who i am anymore so why keep my sexuality a secret. well after about 2 months of people realizing that i'm still the same person i was when i was "strait" or w/e they thought and they don't really care at all. and since i have come out i have made some of the best friends i have ever met in my life and i'm happier now then i've ever been bc i can be me and i don't have to hide anything anymore. and my gf (who just happens to be the best friend from the begining of this that came out to me 2 weeks b4 i came out to her lol)is absolutely amazing and i couldn't ask for anyone better to have my heart!
I know that this site is for teenagers, but I wondered if some of you could help me understand what it is to be homosexual and still in school. I am a teacher and the stepmother of a teenager girl that I believe is homosexual but afraid to share that with her father and I out of fear. She has stated a couple of times that she isn't homosexual, but she has never dated a guy and at least half of her friends are lesbians. We just want her to know that we love her and don't care who she chooses to be with. I told her that I joined this site to broaden my perspective of homosexualtiy and she seemed to approve.
As a teacher, I had a student recently who was being harrassed because of his sexuality. No one should live in fear or be belittled because of the life they live. I wanted to find a way to help. I asked (on the forum) how common hazing is in the schools that you attend (or attended) and what teachers can do to help. Does the school administration do anything? How bad is the problem?
It isn't my intent to bother anyone, but if you could give me a clue, I would sure appreciate it.

I came out to my parents in January.. and it was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life.
They're conservative christian.. I slipped a note in my mom's purse explaining that I was gay.. she went to work with my dad. Then I called my best friend (my ex-girlfriend, she's been there for me throughout everything) and i cried. I remember her telling me, "Everything is going to be okay, somehow.. No matter what has to happen, it'll all be okay eventually."
Soon after, my mom called, and all she said was "Obviously I'm coming to pick you up. Be ready." and then hung up.
She got to the house, i got in the car, and she said, "First of all, I just want you to know that your dad and I love you, and second of all, this isn't something you're claiming. And that's all I'm going to say right now."
We got to my dad's store, got into the office, and my mom informed me that their pastor was coming. At this point, i lost it. I started flat out bawling.
He got there, and he proceeded to tell me more or less that I was stupid and then he accused me of making it up for attention. He lectured me about how I would never be happy, because he's never met a happy homosexual. Whatever. Bullshit.
After that, my parents cut me off from communication with everyone except for their church. I wasn't allowed to use the phone. I wasn't allowed to leave the house alone. Or even be in the house alone. I wasn't allowed online.
It was miserable.
But slowly, things got better.. Now I'm glad I came out to them. Obviously i'm allowed online, and I have a job, and I can leave the house at will. I don't even have to go to church anymore.
I'm in a functional relationship (long distance, but that's for another story..), and I enjoy a much more open relationship with my mom.
My dad doesn't even pretend to care about my personal life, but that's fine. If it's easier for him to just pretend it doesn't exist, then whatever. I've always been much closer to my mom anyways.
So, i think, no matter how bad things get, if your parents really love you, they'll learn to accept.
My mom says she'll never be able to "condone" my "lifestyle", but she'll love me no matter what. She also said that when I'm 18, me, and whoever i'm with, will be welcome in their house.
Jenni was right. Things did end up being okay. It took a lot of time and pain, but it's all been worth it.. No more lying, hiding anything from my parents..
I hope my story helps someone..
And my MSN is john@randomnet.org if anyone ever needs anyone to talk to about anything.. I love listening to people, and helping however I can.

well, my coming out expireience wasn't as good. I was outed. Someone found my profile here and emailed it to every classmate I know at school. I cried so much the first day. And I was nervous to go back the next. But my friends were really supportive. They helped me through my problems and I even gained new friends in the process. I told my sister though. She was my best support. She always told me she loved me and they she would alwuas be there to me. It has now been about half a year since I have been out. It's been great. I finally have a social life and I'm no longer depressed. LOL
I have come out of the closet with some, but then I climbed back in.
Just kidding. I am out to most people, job situations are not where I can be out easily. So I guess you might say I climb in at work, and out everywhere else.
