I agree with you completely.

Roman Catholics are very closeminded and prejudced about anyone and anything that is different. (Sorry if I offend anyone but I've had some really bad experiences with the Catholic Church over a lot of things) The bible was writen by man and man has condemed homosexuality for... well ever. If it is a sin, why does it matter? God forgives our sins!

God's mercy is dependent on our own repentance and willingness to convert to the Gospel. Personally, I believe that Love is of God, therefor, I see nothing wrong with loving another person, man or woman. I dont even have a problem being intimate with someone.

But if I know that something is sin, then I can't take a cavalier attitude towards it. If we say that its okay because God will forgive us, we might as well go be Hitlers, there will be no difference.

In order to be forgiven, we must ask for it. Pray, do not be so arrogant as to think yourself above that.

Also, there are many movements within the Catholic Church. I'm sorry if you have had bad experiences with her. But please dont judge us all based on experiences with a few.

I'm only about half way through the book and I can't answer your question coherently, just yet, but I'm reading a book entitled "What the bible really says about homosexuality." Check it out. It hink it might really help to explain (and refute) some of what you're asking/hearing.

There are so many interpretations of the Bible. Sometimes one doesn't know which to live by. I do know that God loves me. He is great in everything that He does. And I know my name is written in the Book.

I just came across this post on another website. Maybe it won't fully answer your question, but it should certainly give you some food for thought as you decide for yourself if it really is a sin... It's a open letter written to Dr. Laura Schlessinger:

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding Godâ??s Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. For example, when someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. However, I do need some advice from you regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them.


1. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

2. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19-24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

3. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why canâ??t I own Canadians?

4. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

5. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I donâ??t agree. Can you settle this?

6. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

7. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?

8. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

9. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them (Lev.24:10-16)? Couldnâ??t we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

Its all based on a twisted arguement on whether the bible is cloudy on the subject of homosexuality, or crystal clear. It goes back to the translations of the bible, KJV, NKV, NIV, the Living Bible, ect. They all say different things, making it harder on both sides. The straight Christian side always results in bashing, instead of admiting its unclear.

Sin does not exist..it's only a word created by man...it has no real meaning or value.
Being gay is a feeling, an emotion, an attractive, it brings love and happiness.

this really cofuses mi too. i fell in love with this girl, but recently we broke up becuz of this. i know that we shuldnt live in a sin, knowing its a sin, and i dont know wat im doing anymore. i know that sometimes ppl interpret the bible the way they want to interpret it, and i dont want to do that...im not saying anything against anyone here (please know that) i just really want to make the rite decision with this. i know that if i go on with the relationship and i know/think its a sin, it will always b something that comes between mi and this girl, and also mi and God. im just so confused sometimes...

its definatly not a sin. the bible was written like 20 gagillion years ago. homosexuality back then is nothing like it is today. they refer to it as a 'temptation' in the bible, but back then there werent any mature/loving homosexual relationships...just the male prostitutes which were of course hired by other men. thats temptation and thats wrong. yes, there are homosexual people like that today, but its not wrong because of WHO they're with its WHY they're with them. love is love and god understands that better than anyone else. the only true answer you can get out of this is the feeling in your heart. its cheesy but totally true.

I do not believe it is a sin but would rather link to the Bible translators such as Dr. A. Nyland, experts in scripture, that have used the most recent scrolls to give us a more complete translation of those passages.

I am never closer to God than when I have made love to women. God made my body for pleasure and wired it to be attracted to other women. God knew what She was doing and isn't at all upset that I am living up to Her design specs.

i have never been involved in a church that didnt think homosexuality was a sin, its not just the catholics.... being who God made u to b is not a sin... i think its much more of a sin to try to hide who we really r and not b honest with ourselves and live our lives hiding who we really r lying and decieiving ourselves... God made us who we r . we r not sinners bcuz we love someone who happens to b of the same sex... the problem is with the church not with us.... their quickness to judge us is much more of a sin than us loving someone who happens to b of the same sex.....
