Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I am so sad to hear you feel so very down, I have been battling gastritis for over 9 months, and I have to say there were many days when I felt so utterly ill I didn't know were to turn or who to turn to. I became very depressed any would spend weekends staying in bed and just crying...I did not know how to deal with the pain and couldn't see a way to get better, I am also right in the middle of the menopause aswell, horrid night sweats and hot flashes. I would like to ask are you on any acid reducing tablets for the gastritis?have you seen a GP or had a endoscopy to determin that it is gastritis??... I believe that the only way I got over this horrid condition was with the acid reducting meds/watching my diet..nothing acidic etc and rest. The first steps are the hardest...but it's a case of baby steps and patience and being gentle on yourself that gets you healed. I am now almost healed....about 90 % so you WILL get better. Prays to you and keep in touch :)
So cold turkey menopause it is.
I feel my only option is to leave my job to concentrate on eating, exercise & rest.
I have had gastritis for 4 years, my first scope said I had an inflamed stomach, but tested negative for helicobactor, but my last scope I had extensive helicobactor, gastritis with cell changes.
I have been going around in circles for years, but each time I go back to the doctors it's the same. Cut down the stress & anxiety, eat bland & exercise.
We just have to keep trying, keep hassling the doctors until we get better.
Keep your chin up and remember your not alone, this is the best place for info
