Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
On another site, I met someone who went to the ER due to her stomach condition. I asked her if she could give me info about it, see if I can help her, but I haven't pin pointed what it could be (though her symptoms are quite similar to what I had). I asked her if I could pass on the info to this support group, see if you guys can help, and she said yes.
So, here's the information she's given so far:
"They think it was my appendix, but they said they'd have to have me for a blood-test and some ultrasound thingy. The pains have gone away a little bit but its still making me feel dizzy."
"The symptoms I've been having are restless nights, burning esophagus, nosebleeds, obviously stomach cramps, and sick to the stomach."
The symptoms sound familiar to gastritis, but with the ultrasounds, dizziness, nosebleeds and possibility of appendicitis I'm not so sure. Do you guys think you can help us figure out her problem? I'm sure she'll greatly appreciate it.

Encourage her to stay strong and to continue to work with her doctors. Though it sounds simple, the reality is that there could be something minor going on or something very serious. In either circumstance, she needs to work with a professional who can help her. I wish there was something more that I could suggest, but honestly, support is the best thing in the world you can give her. Hugs and hope she finds an answer soon.

I agree with Ravenfish. Too often symptoms overlap... she really does need to see a professional. Self diagnosing is deadly and unfortunately the internet is not the place to turn to for a diagnosis. Support is all you can give her...

I never had nose bleeds or dizziness. I think another trip to the doctor and maybe a gastroscopy to determine if it is gastritis. No other way to know for sure. Good luck to your friend.
