Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I am 30male and I am a mild gastritis sufferered since last 2 months.

My question is does anyone else can an increased heart rate (not too bad maybe just a little over 90 bpm while siting sometimes mostly after lunch timings

As i know inflammation that can cause an increase or elevation in your heart rate, a few others said that it should not be causing it
At night times i also feels my heart beats when i was trying to sleep or just closed my eyes.
But i dont have bp issues or anything

Does anyone else experience this? I have googled as much as I can google and although it makes sense to me (inflammation causing discomfort in the body makes other things heightened as well) I've seen nothing concrete.

Please help

Yes, I get an increase in h/r almost once a day. Sometimes it feels like a palpitation. But sometimes I think it's a form of GERD bothering my esophagus. Hard to tell. I've had both in the past.

Yes I get this a lot. Only thing I have really found that helps is drinking a bit more water, and eliminating everything salty from my diet, so I think its a bit of a dehydration issue for me.

A fast heartbeat doesn't indicate heart disease no, I've had a full 24 hr monitor and echo of my heart and it's fine. I also frequently get skipped beats and palpitations and again not indicative of heart disease for me, despite them being bothersome.

Irregular heart beats and blood pressure would be better clues but its not possible for you to determine them yourself, like I said I have skipped beats and palpitations but these are not actual irregular beats. If you have other symptoms you could go to the dr and ask for the 24 hour monitor but if its just a fast heart rate then the water and salt will probably help.

I had this a lot. and a really hard beat. Sometimes I would be laying down and it felt like my heart was just pounding through my chest even when it was going slow.

I've healed a lot though and now I don't have any problems like that anymore. it was two years with gastritis for me on July 15.

So everyone has been into this, but wht is the reason behind the rapid or slow heart beat.

One theory is that the vagus nerve is irritated which passes by the stomach and esophagus and affects heart rhythm.

wow, I just had that last night. I have erosive gastritis, and i think maybe some Nerd. I take ranitadine 2 times a day, so i am glad that someone mentioned that it is addictive. Had a really bad attack last night, and my heart was doing what you'res does. It is scary if you don't have heart issues which i do not, no high blood pressure or diabetics, it makes it harder to really pinpoint thing's. It can be very frustrating indeed. Ive been told to eat a lot of tiny meals through the day, which is hard for me, but i try. I hope you get some answer's and help soon. I am sorry you feel bad, i know maybe some of how you feel. I have done my ECG ETT & ECHO 2 months ago and it was all good.

Could anyone tell me is there any changes occur after 2 months of all those test.

I read your post yesterday and not sure now if the gastritis has caused the heart palpitations or my long term steroid use has. The worse the gastritis got the worse the heart palps got. My primary and endo thought it was "probably" long term steroid use and put me on Losarton, a BP drug. My gastritis is almost gone and I don't have the heart palps any longer. I wonder if I've been misdiagnosed after reading this thread. I did have a heart test in the last year. It was fine.

22Lynn:- thanks for the comments, What I believe and what I understand to read all the comments in this group is that, Gastritis is different for every person. like for example no pain no cramps and no vomits for me in Gastritis.

when ever I cough I feel something in my chest. I think it is gas which disturbed the upper portion and I felt heart related issues.

I do not have heart disease. I had many palpitations at one time. First my electrolytes were off, then I had hyperthroidism and Graves. Now I get a flutter that I think is in my esophagus. Get it once or twice a day. I notice some gas or tummy trouble when this happens.
