Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
idk what kind of messed up "GI Professors" are they, but if you are having a problem with an organ or a muscle, YOU MUST LET IT REST ....regardless of the problem for it to heal faster or heal anything at all.
its just common sense...i am not a "GI professor" but even an middle school professor knows that.
Plus these "GI Professors" rely on large clinical studies they havent conducted for gastritis or books they havent written and frankly there isn't any, as hard as it is to believe, just one or two studies probably.
They just keep saying that almost everyone on thr street has chronic gastritis and it's not important thing amf it cannot cause persistent nausea.
I'm just trying to find a solution. If my prob is all about anxiety, then I'll eat whatever I want (I already rarely eat junk and no alcohol) and try yo avoid stress.
i did a paleo diet when i didn't have gastritis and it was working well for other issues. It is the best diet for those with a nice stomach it helps so many autoimmune issues imo!
But you have gastritis caused by anxiety, alcohol, h pylori it doesnt matter. I am sure it is "common sense" that avoiding avoid coke, tomatoes, and high acid stuff and things that make your stomach work harder will help even if you have no symptoms or are you waiting to have full blown severe gastritis? Eating bland "won't hurt you" but "help you" that is just "common sense".
Btw, nausea means there is damage going on to your stomach from the acid it is one symptom of gastritis i had in the past but not anymore (knock on wood).
I also think you want to be told to eat all the things that we all know effect the lining of the stomach.
It may not effect your stomach right away. it may be delayed by many hours. It may appear the next day.
I am not sure where you are in the world but what you are being told by the GI's doesnt make sense to me at all. At least in North America all doctors say you have to change your diet and that chronic gastritis can permanently change the cells in the stomach and what does that mean???
Ask yourself why the nausea never goes away?? You are doing something wrong and your body is telling you. Listen to it!!! I stopped responding to you because I think you are not ready to change and listen to your body or any of us! But i had to respond to this.
I agree.. do you want to live to eat or can you be disciplined and eat to live??
You are in charge of your own health. Your emotional connection to food makes me wonder as well that you may need help from a therapist to get to where you need to be.
Take this advice now or you will have a lifetime of gastritis that will turn into something else.
We all figured out how to manage this by trial and error. You need to do this for yourself!
You say that why your nausea never goes away? Docs think that it's totally about anxiety. Docs and you "veterans" say different things. So as a result, I'm confused. Is it normal, isn't it?
Sorry for bothering you guys and thanks for replies.
And when you study medicine you learn nothing about food.
Gastritis affects millions of people, yet there is only a small community of people on forums like this, who represent the extreme ends of the specturm, complaining.
It amazes me the amount of people who just complain of doctors being 'idiots'.
I took a PPI, am taking one, and I have gotten MUCH better. Most people will respond to PPI treatment.
There are doctors out there who actually warn you AND try H2 blockers first AND recommend you to see a nutritionist.
I doubt most people would respond to PPIs and Coca colas at the same time unless they want to be on both for life ;).
