Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I take Neurontin, and found out by accident that it also helped not only my back (and elsewhere!) pain, but my gastritis pain, too. Please note it's a prescription medication, and also it can make you feel tired and a little 'woozy.' But I have to say it sure has helped with my pain.
Heating pads are great, as are the heated 'thingies' you can microwave that are filled with rice, etc.
When it gets really bad & I've only done it a couple of times, but it does help - those pain-relieving gels for muscle pain. Just the tiniest amount on the sore area of the back can ease the pain.
Mostly I use a hot water bottle though.
I'm curious - I see lots of mention of heating pads... are these anything fancy or are they hot water bottles?!
