Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I have been gone for a really long time, but while I visit I'll share with you an update.
And to begin, I'm better!
My gastritis has been gone since June!
It has left it's mark, in good ways and bad.
For one, the doctor says I may now be developing Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I am taking a medication that should treat the gassy, bloating symptoms, and it's working great. However, the doctor brought up that my gastritis could return. I don't want to hear that! Is that true?
Also terrible, I read that people who had gastritis are now six times more likely to develop stomach cancer. I hope to avoid that terrible fact.
Good news has come out of it in its time.
For one, I am taking herbal medications for my digestive heath. I am taking Super Digestaway, Bromeline, and an Alive vitamin for all over health. It seems to be working, though the price on my tight unemployment budget is unbearable.
A little advice, Bromeline is in pineapples, and I've heard that this supplement aides in the digestive health of people who have lost their gall bladder.
A blessing in disguise is my change in diet. I can no longer drink coffee for it upsets my digestion. Carbonation upsets my stomach, so I can no longer drink some sodas (one if which is Diet Coke, I like Diet Coke :( ). This makes me hesitant to bring alcohol back into my diet, which I guess has its advantages. I've also been enjoying some pineapple since it provides the supplements for digestive health.
So, that's my progress so far. It has its ups and downs, but these days are a lot less painful. And in the end, I am happy to be healed at the moment.

Hi very happy for you.Yeah Gastritis is a real pain alright!, I'm going down the same road as you by changing my diet BUT I cannot eat pineapple as I'm allergic to it. Im fed up being on meds that could be slowly destroying my liver(nexium)so I will see how I get on.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
