Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I think I would DIE if I had that!!!!!!!! I can't imagine anything more acidic or harmful to sensitive inflamed tissue.
If you seriously want to get rid of gastritis please please, please don't have that again. Your gastritis will NEVER heal having awful acidic stuff like that. I can't bear to think of it. Please try & be be gentle with your stomach. You will notice a difference! Take care. :-)
There was a thread recently on times people take ppi's. Here is the link...

What you need to understand is that your gastritis is not just going to "go away".... you have to manage it by what you put into your mouth.
I read in another post "what else is there to drink"... well, we all drink a lot of water... that's my staple liquid... and you need 1 litre for every 20kgs of body weight. Coffee and fizzy drinks and goodness knows what else you consume is just not going to bring you any joy I'm afraid.
As Kayella says... you've got to be gentle with your stomach.
I find that if I want to try anything new in my diet, I can only start with a bite or two, then see how I feel the next day.
I don't believe I will ever go back to coffee or soda pop; it's just not worth the bother, and neither are that healthy. I guess I have to learn to be content with the "acceptable" herbal teas, soy milk, and water, as far as liquids.
This is a slow and frustrating process, and you'll find some days are better for handling foods than others, but I believe it will pay off in the end.
Feel better, and I agree with the others--don't hurt your stomach with anything that could cause harm. You may have to stay with the more 'basic' gastritis diet for a while longer. It's tempting to give in and have a no-no food or drink, but it's just not worth it.
Wishing you the best and saying a prayer for you!
@sunlovinmom - I agree, I can now also quite happily live without coffee and fizzy drinks... we are better off without them in anycase.
