Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
However I have been able to get down to jut 20mg in the morning over the last few weeks. (I also take 300mg Ranitidine at bedtime).
I find my Omeprazole to be massively more effective taken on an empty stomach when I wake up (take with LOADS of water) then don't eat for about an hour afterwards.
I read on Wikipedia that Omeprazole is more effective taken without food, but Ranitidine is unaffected by whether it is taken with food or not.
The other thing that might be useful is this article about acid production...
