Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Hope things turn around and go in the right direction. Best wishes!!
I don't know if my medication because less effective, or I'd just slightly pushed a bit too quickly with trying to introduce new foods or supplements.
I agree with Sunlovinmom, it could be bug - the digestive system plays a massive part in our immune system, so if it's compromised or we're on acid suppressors then we can pick up bugs more easily - no acid to kil them off!
Also if you're female, I have definitely noticed a link with feeling more pain & getting more gastritis symptoms around ovulation & period time. Hormones can influence lots of things - spasms in the uterus which are passed onto the GI tract, Also bile production is influenced by oestrogen.
If you're not already doing so, I would recommend keeping a food & symptom diary & record things like periods too. Anything to help find any patterns & make some sense of this silly gastritis...!
