Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I'm so excited that I can once again handle fresh orange juice. I last tried it about three years ago and the pain was beyond awful. Yesterday I had a dessert spoon of my home grown orange juice and thankfully i had no reaction with the gastritis. It tasted so nice and I made sure I savoured it in cas I couldn't taste it again.
Over the next week I will increase the amount and try some flesh of the orange too.
I also gained mangoes back over the Christmas holidays. I last tried them two years ago and the three times I had them in the past the pain was righ up there. Mango is my favourite fruit and I'm so happy to have it back.
Our condition really is one of little victories that will never make headlines.

Soretum
I was diagnosed almost four years ago and I'd say I'm 90% healed. I maintain my diet and avoid any trigger foods.
Soretum is right about the healing process . It varies so greatly. I got gastritis in August 2012, I would say I was healed 99% Sept / Oct 2013. I still am extremely careful with my diet and my mind still not the "same " as before this sickness. So in all I would say I suffered more or less 12 months with this. I am fine now no more nausea or bloating or pain. Still taking ensure because my diet restricted ( own free will ). Warm wishes and calm thoughts to you.
