Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Someone recently posted an article about this same issue (I think it may have been Krista???). You should look back and find it. It was great. It talked about how the scale lies. Everyone's, but especially women's, weight can fluctuate so much, even in the same day.
Also, as Krista said in this thread, muscle weighs more than fat. It's like twice as dense. So, if you lost 1 pound of fat and gained 1 pound of muscle you would weigh the same but you would be smaller! And, we want to gain muscle because muscle burns more calories at rest so the more muscle we have the faster our metabolism.
Try measuring yourself instead of weighing. You will most likely notice a loss of inches even if the scale hasn't moved.
Give yourself and your body a break. You are almost 50 pounds lighter than you were less than 4 months ago!!! That's almost half way to 100! That's awesome. Pat yourself on the back and keep up the good work. :-))
