Hi everyone.Tomorrow is my surgery day. I go in at 7:50am. I can't wait. I am so excited! Plus I lost 8 more lbs being on the liquid diet. I'm so happy! The past few days I went back and forth about if this is the right thing for me. I know it is, but you still have those thoughts in your head. But I am over that and just so thrilled about going forward with this. My sister who was my support because I live with her is now saying that it is too much for her to handle and it is stressing her out. I have been asking her for 4 months to take before pics of me and she just kept saying she would but would never do it. I asked again the other night and she was like "lets get this over with so I can stop stressing over it". I don't know why she is being like that. It makes me think I shouldn't have the surgery just so she won't be stressed out. I hope after I have the surgery she will support me and I will try not to be a burden to her. Please keep me in prayer for my surgery and afterward. Thank you all. debby

Debbie,

Your sister is only worry about you once the surgery is over and you are are back home she will be ok.

Stay possitive and beleive that everything will be ok. I will keep you in my prayers. Good luck to you tomorrow and please keep us informed of your progress. God bless you.

Oh I'll be thinking of you. This is the beginning of your new life, and the fact that you're taking control of it is the most important step of the process. Don't let anyone sabotage you're resolve. We are not responsible for other peoples response to us, and you can't help your sist3er overcome HER issues. Just deal with your own, and that's exactly what you're doing. Seven months ago I weighed nearly 100 pounds more than I do today, and I feel great in more ways than not. There are struggles of course, but none as great as the struggle of obesity, poor health, terrible self esteem and self loathing, all of which I had to change for ME. You do too, I hope you sister is ok but you are the most important person you need to think of every day of your life. You put your oxygen mask on first, then you can help others. Blessings and best to you. You're on the road to happiness like no other.

Debbie,
So happy your surgery date is today and by now probably over with and you are in the recovery room. Please let us know how you are doing once you are up to it.
I think your sister is just nervous about the surgery and maybe that is why she is acting like this.
You have worked so hard for this and now it is your day!

Good luck Debbie. I am new to this group and still have one more meeting with my team in October. Be gentle with your sister. Like others have said, she is probably scared to death for you, and since she is not going through this, she can't possible know what you are going through.
I live alone, I don't know if that is better or not. I have 3 older brothers and between them and their wives, have been extremely wonderful. Infact my oldest brother goes to my appointments with me and I will probably spend post op with them. Only problem is to find some place for my 3 Bostons to live until I can come home.

Good luck and lots of prayers your way. You will do great and so will your sister. Once she sees your smiling face after surgery!!!
