And Joy, I remember you saying you started with tuna, so figured I'd go the fish route first too :)
My first weigh in (I've not weighed at home) will be Tuesday too... feels like a HUGE pressure to do well! I think as I work my way thru this first weigh in anticipation I am liking more and more not getting on the scale too often :)
Take it easy and small slow bites!
That said, remember that you still have to chew everything to mush. So I found that cutting everything into very small pieces made that easier.
Keep your fluids up. Watch out for soft cues that our pouch is full, and you should be fine.
Congrats on your progress so far. :)
vuloplady.... Sept. 18!?!?!? Amazing! :) :)
Anyway...as part of my soft/pured stage, I was given permission got tuna salad, chicken salad, etc. My doc just said to start off with the canned chicken as it is moist and breaks up into little pieces like the tuna. I have had some soups and chili as well...just chew it really well. I know it feels weird to chew your soup...but, you know the drill.
My girl friend had VSG done in March. When she moved on to real food, she found chicken was easiest for her. If she got steak, it had to be med. rare so it was moist enough. Seafood was no problem.
Like everyone said, though...I would only do one new thing a day. Good luck...and happy eating!
I never tried tuna much. I did try some flathead baked and didn't like it. We fried some flathead with no stick spray and rolled in flour and it was ok. Of course this was much later than stage 3.
I learned I had to eat ALL BRAN or become a brick layer.
I ate a quite a few green beans at that stage too.
One egg scramble w/ cottage cheese
Shrimp, fish and more shrimp
I had not problem w/ chicken or turkey especially with a dab of ff gravy to moisten
I never pureed anything, just chewed the "you know what" out of it
meatloaf
have fun!!!
