Hi All,
I had to write...I am feeling so good!!! I am very committed to doing all the right things, and I am!!
My energy level since surgery (9 days today)....is improving each day!!
I'm following my program to the "T".....
I am eating just protein, with a bite of fruit, per my NUT.
I also, due to my hypothyroidism, and the decrease of my water pills since surgery, have been told by the PA, to eat 1/2 banana in the morning, and one half at night, to cover the possible drop in my potassium.
I haven't been able to eat a whole half, but eat enough that I'm satisfied, not stuffed.
Fat free refried beans are my best friend!! They taste so rich and good, and yummy.
My NUT told me yesterday, "Stick to just protein, and just a small bite of veggies or fruit, but protein is the key right now.
You only have 1-2 ounces of food per meal, use those 2 ounces on your protein. You will have time down the road, to add in other foods to balance things out.
I weighed in at the pre-admission testing, 8 days before surgery, and as of today, 9 days after surgery....16 days ...I have lost 18 pounds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited, and so happy. My body feels better, my back feels better, I'm not taking as many pain pills for my back and knees and hips. My sweatshirt I wore before surgery was tight, but now that I'm losing some of the surgery fluids/bloating, it's LOOSE!!!!
I am just really happy, and feel better than I have in years,...even after just the 9 days...and the work I did BEFORE surgery!!!
The support of this group, helps me to keep on going and doing well!! thank you all for your great advice and support !!
