So I'm not having surgery on 12/30 after all. Long story short the center that I was going to told me I had to buy food from them as well as vitamin's that was a few hundred dollars. It was a last mins addition that I wasn't aware of until yesterday that it was mandatory. I thought it was an option. So since I dint have the money I can't have the surgery on my scheduled date. I'm still going to have it just at a different center an possibly a week later.

My doctor does not require me to buy anything from him. His office has it if I want to buy it from them.

Sorry to hear this! Got to be a bit devestating. I think it's ridiculous that you have to purchase from them! Clear what it's all about for that center! Perhaps this is a blessing to get it done else where! It will be about you, your health and well being, not the ol mighty dollar!!! Hang in there, it will happen before you know it!! Keep a positive attitude, it helps so much!

My doctor didn't require me to purchase anything from them, seems that center is in it for the money. Hopefully your new surgery center will have you scheduled asap

I know that is disappointing news, but remember everything happens for a reason, often times for reasons we do not know. Hang in there it will happen soon!

Your food has to come from them???? That is weird!!

I see my Dr on Monday, and my NUT said, I don't even have to start my vitamins yet, because they suggest, I buy them at Bariatric Advantage site.

Again, so weird...diff doctor's have such different rules!!

I agree with toukybear, it sounds like this is a blessing in disguise. Yes, there are a lot of different programs out therebut I am highly suspicious of a surgeon who requires you purchase food and supplements from them.

It sounds like you have a great attitude about the whole thing. My surgery was delayed 1 day and I was devastated!!

Yea I couldn't believe that they make patients buy the food and vitamins from them. Its "protocol" and if I don't follow I couldn't have surgery there. I wasn't sad or disappointed about it because i feel the same way that most of you do. That there in it for the money and I'm better off at my new center. Which doesn't require me to buy anything. Thank you all for the support, it really means a lot.

When my 1st surgery was postponed , for 6 weeks..i thought OH CRAP!! I don't want to wait that long, but...

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
