Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
if you ever need any help we are always here.. this a great place for support..

My idea of support is advice that's going to put me on the right track or encourage me when I falter. If I were to believe that you were doing something wrong and I just patted your head (in a manner of speaking) and didn't say so, I think that would ultimately be destructive to you--the exact opposite of support.
That said, everyone's program seems to be different. Every surgeon has his/her own methods. We give advice based on what our own programs tell us and based on our own experiences. So you'll need to put what we say into that context. Your program may be considerably different than mine. Your experiences may be different. That ultimately adds to the overall value of this group, because when everyone chimes in on a topic, there is a very wide range of advice that can be given.
Your success is in your hands, so you'll need to pick and choose what advice you take away from here. I hope you'll be posting your advice for us, as well as asking questions. The more voices, the better. Take care.

I am very new on here as well! So welcome back. Sounds like you are doing very good - isn't there something to be said for your body reeling from surgery for as few weeks and then catching up to itself? I don't know but it just sounds that way to me.
I am just now going through the dr visits and all to have surgery. Hopefully it will happen May or June of this year! Being on here has helped me to understand things that I am questioning so I think it's a good place to be.
Just remember to watch for the blessings - sometimes they are a little hard to find, but they're always there!
Take care,

It's not that you can't be totally honest but sometimes we all need a kick in the pants.
Maybe thats not what you needed that day but I know one thing for sure... we mean well.
Welcome back.
You won't be sorry you came : ), Hope
I'm glad you decided to stick with us. I hope you are able to find the support here you need for this journey. We really are a fun group of people...slightly crazy at times, but good for a good laugh, or cry.
So sorry you were put-off in your first experience. Kudos for coming back anyway!

I do remember that post and will say sorry for my comments. FYI sometimes when I read the overeating post i think that ppl are not really serious or maybe even trolls trying to mess with us.
Why I was so brutal was that at a year plus post op i still cant eat what you posted you ate that day. Anyway im sorry if i hurt your feelings.

ps if nothing else at least we know you have good thick skin! LOL
My favorite way to put things into prospective for you... You're losing 5 pounds per week, post op. You're doing just fine!
Tough love is the name of the game sometimes. Continue to share, you'll find amazing support here.
I would like to congratulate you on your 20 pounds. I think that is amazing!
