Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
But look at this it this way - 4 yrs out - okay I am not at my dream weight but I have lost alot and still losing. My health is much better even though my knees say differently due to all the wear and tear. My eating habits have improved. I've learned to just shrug off those "family members" who refuse to include me or my husband ans sons in their lives.
You have to think what is best for you. Also go by what your PC dr (and any other of your drs) say I like you would gain 10 lbs a yr and never could get rid of it - if I did - it came back with more. One thing to remember -- this surgery is a starting tool to lose weight - not a miracle cure. And there will be bumps in the road to where you might gain a few lbs - but because I have "relearned how to eat" you will have no problem getting back on track.
