I am so shocked and sad to hear this news. It's just too easy to "expect" everyone to have surgery and then get back on here with updates and questions. Online friendships are just as strong as any and I can only pray for his family and friends that they find peace and remember all the good times they have had with him on this earth. R.I.P. Oso.

It is truly sad to lose another DS friend. It is scary to lose 2 people so close together. My heart goes out to his family and love ones. I too pray that this trend doesn't continue.

I am shocked and said about two people on this board passing away. I have been on the board several years thinking about this and I finally am committed to it. The deaths though remind me oif what has held me back I still want to move forward. I almost died last winter, very sick ftom ther flu and asthma whiich was of course related to my diabetes and my obesity$ I have so many meds from my comorbitities and I mixed the wrong iver the counter drugs trying to avoid missing more work. I guess my point is that we have so much in the way of risks from being obese and then if like me you have diabetes well just add a bunch more risks and complications. I am still of the believe that wls is a step for health for me. The truth is that I will be really happy to have a chance to live life not as an obese person.

I guess I didn't finish what I wanted to say. I wanted to say that the peoiople on this board are very courageous. Obesity is a horribke disease and obese people are judged on top of what we suffer. I think Oso and everryone else who has been brave enough to fight this horrible desease are heroes! It used to be 1 in 100 would die now only 1 in 1000 die. It is getting better abd wls is this is the only reliabe treatment. It is not how some people think just about will power. I know that the people on here that are willing to take this risk or at least consider it are really brave

My prayers goes out to the family. May the Lord give the family strength and peace that surpassing all understanding.

OMG! I am so shocked. I was wondering the other day how his surgery went. May the Lord comfort his family in this time of loss and may Oso rest in peace. My prayers go out to his family...

My name is Janine and Oso was one of my dearest friends. I was touched when I heard from Ricky today. After reading all of your posts, I had to start an account and reply to all of you.

Oso was such a wonderful friend, father, band mate, son,...human being. There are few people in this world that I respected more. He was as good as it gets. The real deal.

Our hearts are completely broken. When my husband and I received that dreadful phone call, it brought us to our knees. That was the type of person that Oso was. We just cannot imagine that we won't share a laugh, or a phone call, or a conversation with him again.

God bless all of you for being part of his support system. I really intended on writing more. I just cannot find the words at the moment. This has just been such a shock. :(

OMG how heart breaking. My heart is so sad right now. He just wanted a new beginning. You hear things can go wrong but it doesn't always seem like its real until it does. I am sorry so for his family and his children.May God bless you. I almost had a blood transfusion from the surgery. I doesn't seem serious at the time until you hear a sad story like this. Now i am even more scared for my 19 to have this surgery. He to is a bleeder and if something like this happens how would i live with that. Gosh it is so shocking it seems he was just on the boards. I haven't been on the boards this weekend and logged in to see this.. how awful and sad. I feel so awful for his family, girlfriend and friends that I can't even express it. Prayers and best wishes to everyone close to him. RIP Oso. :(
