Does anybody get this at home?
This morning I was having scrambled egg, low fat cream cheese and a thin slice of Hollywood Whole wheat toast for breakfast. which by the way I intend to share with a hungry 3 year old
My friend came in and scowled at me saying "Oh I see you are hungry this morning"
This person and some people believe I have the stomach of a squirrel and that I should never get hungry.
This is a man who weighs 140 (20 pounds less than me) and refuses to eat his 3 meals a day even though he has been doctor ordered to do so.
I am just so upset right now.
Why does everyone think they are entittled or invited to comment on my meals or even the fact that I am merely having my breakfast?

I certainly understand your frustration! It's like they're telling me that I don't know what I'm doing! I hate the questions like "Are you sure you should be eating that?"

How irritating! Well, some people are just idiots! :)

I tend to make jokes about everything, so I'd probably try to come up with something humorous to say to someone like that.

But, the important part is to not let something like that anger you or ruin YOUR day! Blow it off!

Tell him that maybe he ought to study your books on what your diet is supposed to consist of. He obviously is uneducated in this matter. After all he doesn't even know how to feed himself!

As one who almost divorced over a jar of roasted nuts last night, I feel your pain.

I do recognize that I am overly sensitive to any criticism about what I'm eating (from well before WLS), but have a really hard time doing anything about it!

Thank you for posting this! This happens to me ALL the time. I get so incredibly frustrated by it. Because I had surgery to try to save what was left of my GI system after pancreatitis and not to lose weight, people feel it's necessary to make comments about what I eat and how much. I hear it all day long from friends, family members, everyone. "Should you be eating that?" "Wow you ate a lot!" "Are you eating again?" I want to stab the person with my fork!!

I get this all the time. Just because I have had weight loss surgery does not mean I am not going to ever eat again. It upsets me when they act like I am eating and not suppost to. It's not like quiting smoking. I have to eat to live. I don't have to smoke to live.

I have said that to them and then they said they were sorry for saying anything. Call the person down on it. It works.
