Yes, it was all I could tolerate for awhile when I got sick to death of milky shakes. They are like koolaid.

Yup. Let me just say this about that. If my surgeon had told me I needed to drink mud for all this to be effective, I'd have asked how much and how thick to make it. The Isopure got really difficult after the second day, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

I got mine at GNC, but I think VitaminShoppe has it too.

I can't even choke them down. They are the worst, nastiest, grossest tasting things ever. I got thru ONE when I first tried them, thinking they were ok, but by number 2 was gagging.

since I'd bought a whole bunch, I put a few oz in a shot glass, and drank them like a shot, holding my nose and following them with a Crystal Light Chaser. It's literally the ONLY way I could do it

they are a great source of protein, and some peeps do like them. For me they are no longer an option. Nectar is so damn good, and I love it, and it's just as good for protein :)

Yeah. It was the only clear liquid protein I could find. I used it for the first week only. After that, I made shakes with Greek yogurt, applesauce, Torranis sf vanilla syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla protein powder and 2ice cubes.

I know that super super supplements has Nectar and they said its the most popular for bariatric patients who don't like or can't tolerate chocolate and vanilla after surgery.

Isopure was made by Satan himself....I get chills recalling the taste, texture........

I too love my Nectar with milk, banana pieces thrown in occassionally.
One would think I would tire of Chocolate Truffle but I love it!!

I am not so creative when it comes to shakes because I am not at the stage of eating what I want, but When the nut says EAT.I have a TON of protein shakes and a Juicer for veggies i will use.

Oh my goodness they are the most terrible stuff I ever had so my dr. suggested cyclomax found at gnc that are good a little sweet for my taste but alot better than isopure so you might try these good luck :)

I've never tried the Isopure but have been tempted but then I read how yucky they are and then don't buy any.
Nectar is the one to go with. Much better taste, cheaper to buy and more flavors to choose from. You can get a 14 pack sample pack online to try them for like $14. I bought some this Spring to have onhand.

I just recently tried the Target brand of whey protein powder. Chocolate flavor. It's very good. I've been drinking New Whey Protein bullets for weeks, their good but I was starting to get tired of the fruit flavors.
I was told by my nutritionist to stick with Whey or Soy protein, and to make sure the protein is the first ingredient listed. I've also been told that the calorie count should be 190 or less per serving and the sugar should be under 5 mg per serving.
Your taste may change after surgery so what you may like now, you may not like post op. It's worth a try to find one you do like though so that you have it on hand when it's time.

I drink the Isopure grape and alpine punch in the bottle. The powder is not very tastey. The premade taste exactly like grape koolaide. I did try several flavors before I found the grape. I found the others to be too sweet. I also love the Nector chocolate truffle and double stuffed cookie.

I agree with Happyfeet. I tried them and "made" myself get through a couple of them but can't stand them. They leave a nasty taste in my mouth and my tongue gets slimy. Totally gross.

Everyone's tastes are different so you have to try what you want and see how your tastebuds react.

To me the BEST shake like Protein is by "LaBrada". It's called "LaBrada For Her"...found on LaBrada website. No grit...grim..and taste EXACTLY like a Real MilkShake. Now if you like Fruit CooLAide type Protein Drinks...then go to "Bariatric Choice" web site. They have all kinds of Delecious CoolAide Like Flavors...Lemonaide..Grape...Orange...Grapefruit...Strawberry Kiwi...Mango Pineapple,etc. 15grams per 8oz Pack. No Sugar at all. LOVE THEM. Rachel
