with your new body?

I still find myself looking for the biggest chair in the room. Or grabbing an aisle seat. You know what I mean, some of those behaviors we have adapted and adopted because of our weight.

I am 6 months post-op and sometimes am amazed that I can slide into a booth with ease or that the movie theater seats are quite comfortable now. Is there a point in time when this mindset makes a permanent shift or will I always have that big girl mentality. Just curious about others thoughts and experiences.

Im over a year postop and my mind still hasn't caught up. I think i will always think of myself as a big girl. Wish i had some advice but i have been struggling with the same issue.

It takes a while sweetie. I was folding laundry today and wondering how the hell these size 10 jeans and small tops fit my body. It gets easier but it is a hell of a ride :)

Good question. I still don't see the loss in the mirror, even though others do. I also find myself having trouble taking compliments on my progress. I always make excuses for why I haven't lost more or how much I still have to lose. sigh. Stupid head!

I'm a year post-op and it hasn't caught up with me. I still have the booth anxiety. I pull my clothes out of the dryer and think OMG they've shrunk and will never fit.

I'm a year out and I can not get a grip on my new body either...I still look at my little cloths and think "there is no way those are going on"...I look in the mirror and still see fat. Hopfully soon...

It took a while to be able to ask for a booth. It's a personal quirk but I have to be able to see the whole room and the entry way from where I sit. So a booth is usually the best chioce and it keeps folks from getting behind you.
I still won't sit on a frail looking chair. If it will hold any adult it will hold me now but why take a chance? I still remeber my fishin chair collapsing under me a few years back and my daughter and son in law rooling with laughter! Flies wouldn't land on them for a while!
It will take a while to make the mental shift. And you still might want to pick that aisle seat if you are more comfortable there.
