Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

Can I please just tell you all how much I love you?
I went to my surgery programs support group meeting last night. It was a fiasco. I have never been around so many women busy on whining and emoting in my whole life. And I was in a sorority, so thats saying a lot. Really, I almost pulled a Lu on these chicks. "PULL UP YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES AND ENJOY THE MELTDOWN" is what was screaming in my head.
Thankfully, I was sitting in the back of the room with a friend from my nutrition class and we were acting inappropriately and having our own little support group. Except we started laughing at a bad moment (I think someone else may have been crying) and our nutritionist yelled at us. LOL. Well, she yelled at my friend, which was funny because it was my fault we were laughing.
Anyway, you all rock. I get better support, better advice from you all ... plus I get to laugh and celebrate. Seems that is better than crying and over emoting ... to me anyway. Thanks for being real and being great!
XOXO,

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
They only care about getting people through the required insurance 6 meetings...not long care support.
The group I went to at Augusta Bariatric Support group last night, was amazin!
I can't believe that doctors and hospitals tolerate crap... support!
Ricky - My six week "diet advance" program is Monday at 9am (yay, I think I can eat a tomato next week! And a salad! I miss salad!) and I plan on telling my NUT that the meeting was a total downer for me. I swear, there was one pre-op girl in who looked scared to death a couple times. Anyway, had it been better moderated, it could have been more positive, fun and redeeming, IMHO. The ONLY worthwhile part was when my surgeon showed up and spent some time talking to the group and answering questions. He rocks.
LAME!!
I love you guys sooooooooooooooooo much better!!!!!!!
I support the program and protect the innocent from the twelve step monsters

This group is a lot of fun and I always find out something new and the questions being asked makes you think and/or laugh. And I can be sitting in bed in my pajamas.
