Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

You may find that walking in a pool would work for you. If you can access a pool, give that a try. Some periodic weight training would also be helpful.
Just do whatever you can and don't worry about it. Most of us have challenges to movement. The surgery will improve your overall health so much that you will soon be able to do more than you can imagine. :)
My local Y has swimming but the pool is only open noon - 5pm and since I work 11am - 8pm M-F -- doesn't work for me. Weekends the pool is used by their kids program.
I'm going to look into the chair exercise DVD's. I'm using my stationary bike and it is at least something. I do a fair amount of walking some days at work but other days I'm at my computer all day and those are bad days for the knee.
I'm hoping and praying I'll get some relief with the more weight that comes off. I know one day I"ll just have to suck it up and have the knee replacement.
Good luck!
