So, quite awhile back i started a similar thread, but considering all the new folks, i figured it was time to do this again!
Post your top few items of you "cannot wait till" list... For some of those a ways out from surgery, yours would be more like "I finally can..."
For me....
I cannot wait till....
1....I can walk around campus without my cane and without (or at least less) pain!
2.... I can fit comfortably into the desks at school.
3.... I can go shopping for "normal" sizes!
4.... I can actually play with my grandkids :)
I of course could add a zillion more!
What are yours???

Good day to all.So let me explain why we're discussing this today. The problem is, if your system gets too many (as in produces too many) it's a non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) called Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia, and my husband was diagnosed in early 2018.Every monocloncal antibody or protein in your blood is essentially a blank, a slug, as they call coins that have been minted but not...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

Be able to do stairs like regular people and not have to go one step at a time.
Have no more low back spasms.
Shock the heck out of all my relatives. None of them live near me and have no idea that I am having WLS.
Fit into a booth.
~ be smaller than my husband for the first time in 37 years
~ be able to sit comfortably in an airplane seat and actually be able to lower the little table with room to spare
~ be able to buy and shop for the "cute" clothes that fit nicely and not hang like a tent
~ be able to get on the floor and play toys with my grandkids without the fear of not being able to get up by myself
~ be able to take my grandkids to Disneyland for a graduation present and actually participate in the fun
~ And most of all be Happier, Healthier, and much Wiser than the past 38 years of my adult life
Big list, but I'm primed to accomplish them all in the next few years. Saddest part, I wish I could have done this a long, long time ago!
1. Walk from the parking lot into the store without pain.
2. Fit into booths.
3. Cross legs and arms.
4. Weigh less than my husband and son.
5. Be able to sit in a chair without worrying it may break.
6. Wear shoes from regular shoe stores.
I've accomplished all that plus so much more!! My hubby can easily pick me up. My kids are proud of me. (This one is for Thepbourn - the sex is GREAT!!) My biggest problem at the store now is finding clothes small enough. :) I've gone skiing and rollerskating. I can easily make it through an entire Zumba class!! Yes, I can dance, people!! Dance!! Oh, and I can run, too!!
Worth it? Heck yeah!!

tlc, I think having a goal of feeling better is at the heart of this for many of us... Quality of life is so important!
And JJ... My add to this list is to be even half the success you are and to be still inspiring others as far out post op as you! You are my hero! (P.S. I'm also game for an improved sex life too! LOL!)
Most of all, it would be to be able to wear a normal size and feel comfortable shopping and trying on clothes. I am not I am not the only one but many times I left the store crying because nothing fit, or people stared at me.
My husband and I were just talking about this last week, and we made a decision. What we decided to do was to redo our honeymoon. There were many things we couldn't do because of our weight and the airplane ride was horrendous. I want to be able to sit in a seat without using a seat belt extender.
So this time next year, we have it planned....we are redoing out honeymoon and going to Maui. I am already saving for it.
After that, kayaking with my boys (and our dog family)
Being able to sit in any chair again without fear of collapse.
Also, I now take up 1 seat & 1 seat ONLY on the shuttle bus to campus!
I can also walk up the 3 flights to my apt & the 2 flights to my office w/o sounding like I may need oxygen!
1) be able to get off the couch without all my effort and an added pain like I'm old and I'm only 39 year old!!!
2) I want to be able to put my shoes on without getting winded from bending over or sustaining back pain!!
3) I want to be able to wipe my butt (gross I know) without it being a job as again I get winded and back pain from doing that!
4) I NEVER want to eyeball a seat again wondering if I will fit in it... Especially seats with arms because I am wide in the hips!!!
5) I am tired of feeling my back on my hips... Back fat!!!
6) I want to be able to run around with my four little sons without getting winded, feeling pain, and ultimately gilt for turning into who I have become... Someone who will not be around for them if this continues!!!
7) like others I am sick of shopping at Walmart woman's department and even still not fitting in some of the 4x stuff.... Really 4x!!!!!
8) like others... I can't wait to go on a plane without needing to buy two seats ( what they made me do last time) and request a seatbelt extender!!!!
9) like others I want to go on amusement park rides with my sons and not worry if I will fit!!!
10) I want to wear a suit n not feel like someone above mentioned. " she knows better"
11) same person above... I want to make love n be able to "hold" sexy positions... Ha ha ha
12) I want to ride a horse without wondering if I am hurting the horse!!!
13) I want to be remembered as holly, the nice woman... Not holly the fat one... Almost alwAys the fattest one there!!!
14) I really want to cross my legs and do yoga... Which I enjoy but feel like a total douche doing positions and have pain a lot in my back or knees
15) the list I am sure can go on... Sorry to bore u with such a long one! I suppose my number one with us to be healthy so I live a long time so I am here to help and love my kids as long as God allows me too!!!!
Thank you!!!
2- I want to wear 7/8 clothes (I don't want to stop anymore in a plus size boutique)
3- I want to be healthy, being to be able to have fun doins a lot of things... yoga..bicycle, walking, hiking
4- I want to have more energy
5- I want to travel (France, Italy)
6- Yeah! I want to feel sexy again
7- I want to run!
This is almost my almost, but I am pretty sure that I can find a lot of others things.
If anyone ever needs to be reminded why they are on this journey, this list will help!!
- sit anywhere I want without worrying if I'll fit
- shop in the cute stores and choose what I like, not just whatever fits.
- where heels again
- make it through exercise class without stopping
- cross my legs
- chase my 3 year old grandson and not have to stop because I'm out
of breath
- walk into a room with confidence
- meet my husbands coworkers without worrying that I'll embarrass
him
- now I'm just the oldest sister, not the "big" sister
- don't have to take meds or where my CPap any longer
I have no regrets and can't wait to see what else this second chance at living has in store for me:)
