Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
You are great!!!
I think you should totally do that! (The implanted device explanation, not the eyeball eating. Only because I don't think you can get online in prison and I really like reading your posts. Otherwise, I'd be all for the eyeball eating!!!)
I would love to see someone's expression after you have given them that explanation. Do it with a straight face and then just walk away. :-)))
That makes me want to spit everytime I hear that.
Nope don't eat, don't sleep, and don't breathe haven't you read Trueblood?
Patricia - OMG, I am with you on the weight thing too. I have just started telling people that I only weigh on Sundays (true, thats my weigh day) and that I am not sure how much weight I've lost.
I will NEVER get tired of hearing my mother in law say, "You're the handsome man my daughter married," over and over!

I do think most people are curious/concerned/wondering what its like, but at 2 months post-op I am just tired of patiently answering questions. I want to be treated like I was pre-op - you know, ignore me and let me live my life!
I have another work friend, who I really do love dearly, but who asks me every damn day if I am feeling ok - I say yes - she says "Really?!". I am dreading going back to work tomorrow and seeing her after my long weekend ... I may just have to tell her to stop asking. Sigh.
I must be PMS'ing tonight. Forgive me my rants. LOL!
