3 month and stand still

I'm 3 months out of my RNY and as of 12/6 had lost 50lbs. It's a month later and I feel like I'm already at a stand still. Total lost is 56lbs at this point.

I'm following my diet, small portions, eating slow .... I've even limited myself to 1 unsweetened iced tea a day and the rest is water.

IDEAS? What gets you over the hump?

I fear I'm eating too much but my husband disagrees. He's been a wonderful support during this so I doubt he's sugar coating things for me. I'm still doing about 1/4 cup for a meal - sometimes less. I have been feeling full and almost bloated lately. It's been difficult to get my protein and liquids in some days.

My fear is if at 3 months out I'm already struggling to lose more ~ am I the 1 in a million this doesn't work for?

I appreciate any ideas, help, ~ THANKS

I did not have RNY but the sleeve, and I am finding that I am at the same place hover at the same weight for the past two weeks. We all experience platues where are just stuck. Your body is adjusting to the big change that it is going through and it does not want to let it go. But stay diciplined and keep up the good work.. it will pay off.

I am a little over 3 months out and my body is at a stand still now as well. I have been the same weight for 2.5 weeks and even gained a pound in there. It was frustrating and I know that I am not overeating. I also feel completely bloated, my stomach hurts every time I eat and feel like I can't tolerate my protein shakes at all. I have not had a problem with them prior to this point. I think I am going back to my diet prior to being able to eat anything I wanted....and see if that helps.

The famous words..plateau. I think alot of us are there right now. But this too shall pass an pretty soon, the pounds will just melt off.

You had your surgery a few days before me (mine was 10/9). For the past month I have been pretty much at a standstill. I hit a plateau that lasted 2 weeks and then I lost a few pounds and hit another plateau. I too was following the plan exactly, or so I thought. I had started to "eyeball" my portions instead of measuring. I have started measuring again unless I'm out to dinner. It has made a difference, along with increasing my exercise. Talked to my Nut and she said just stay the course and it will start moving again. Frustrating I know - good luck.

Thank all of you for sharing this, I'm at that 3 month mark and just got off a 3 week platu which just about killed me. I was so frustrated w/ it. also had the bloating feeling and been really exhausted. I have gotten these pains on either side of my stomach too sometimes sharp other times dull sometimes they last all day other times they are here and then just disappear as fast as they came. Thank you it's so nice to know it is normal and I'm not stalling out forever.

There will be times during the post op that the scale will not move for a time and my thinking is that the body is resting and readjusting and will start dropping lbs again soon. I do know that we are shrinking even if not losing lbs. Try this. Take and record your body measurements in a notebook. Remeasure every couple of month and record. You will be amazed and have proof that even during stall/plateaus you are continuing to shrink. Being obsessive with the scale can drive you crazy. I worked out a system where I would weigh once a week and at the docs office. I had my surgery on the 6th of the month so I weigh on the 6th, 16th, & the 26th. d

rember just because the lbs arent comming off does not mean the inches arent. I went through my first winter 2 mths or so where I only lost inches. My body was I guess catching up...........

also if you arent eating enough you could put your body into a starvation mode. then you gota hang it up untill you get your body to realize you will feed it properly agin. its not just keeping things out of our mouth its puting the right stuff and the right amounts in there.
