Serenity, I worked as a dive guide/but bum along the western Caribbean down through the Antilles from '83 til '90. I worked for one company quite often, and in between I went wherever someone was hiring. I kept needing to go to an embassy to have new pages put in my passport or just get a new one. Go through my journals that are titled and you'll read some good stuff. I tell stories about me and my friends Maube, Captain Groovy, and Pooster the Rooster.

for health reasons, its better to be content...because in the end life is all about survival and who survives. intelligent would be waaaaay more interesting, but tormented people die very young and its a terrible existence....

there is a lot to be said for the simple life, simple pleasures and just loving nature and what is around you as long as its calm and good and living with freedom.

Neither really. 1902 signaled the beginning of the Mauve Decade when Americans were all very tight-assed and judgmental. 1922 would put a person in the Great Depression during childhood and WW II at adulthood.

california, its prettier and a better climate and the possibility of millions via gold, sounds like a lot of fun, though i am sure it was loaded with corruption, all things involving money always are.

if i was a guy, i'd probably head to south america, unless i believed in it and wanted to fight. people die if its front line combat...if i were a woman, i might sign on or do any of the drives in the effort, unless there were a way to go abroad safely in 1917...like that nurse violet something who survived all three sinkings of ships as a ship nurse...what a life! lucitania, i think, britanica and the titanic. i forget her last name, there is a book on it though. what a lucky nurse. lol.

Miami, Florida 1900 The coast is still pretty, relatively unoccupied, and a haven for smugglers wiling to take chances, even before prohibition and the war on drugs.

i knew there was a hurricane around then that was quite devastating - great movie about it with actual footage and witnesses. still, i'd choose hawaii hoping to miss it or be able to help, plus it's one of the most beautiful places i've seen.
