Foster Care Support Group
Foster care is a system by which a certified, stand-in parent(s) cares for minor children or young peoples who have been removed from their birth parents or other custodial adults by state authority. Responsibility for the young person is assumed by the relevant governmental authority and a placement with another family found.
I created this for my daughter, since I am tired of going through her wardrobe myself, but thought that it might be a handy checklist for foster kids coming into the home as well. Posted in case others feel like stealing it.
School Clothes: Do you have what you need?
For the following questions, think about the school quality clothes that you already own. School quality means that your clothes fit, are not stained, have no unintentional rips and tears, and that they follow the school dress code.

I am so sorry that even the bad foster homes were better than what you came out of. I am also glad that your best friend's mom cared enough about you to take you under her wing.

When I was in foster care school clothes shopping was a time I dreaded. Some of my abuse at home was building up nice things like clothes and then taking them away and giving me walmart clothes.
