I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Guess this will take the focus off Hillary Clinton's email issues, lol.
He needs to stop now, and quit while he's ahead. He's only digging that hole deeper and deeper.
Will it be the first four games he sits out? Will this affect the SB results?
Probably not. Talk about altering the course of history.
BAD DOG, NO BONE!!
I messaged you but I'll add my two cents here. I am going to say, as I ( and most everyone who has discussed this ), the ' deflated balls ' had nothing to do with the outcome of the Superbowl final score. Obviously. That never was the real issue with me. I am not nieve enough to think that rules aren't stretched to ( and beyond ) the limits to gain some kind of competitive edge. I'm certainly not saying it's right, I'm just saying I think we all know it happens. If Brady had been upfront and forthcoming from the very beginning ( press conference ) and admitted that yes, he told his equipment guys ( or it was a given and he had knowledge of it ) that those balls were going to be PRECISELY the way he wanted them and sincerely apologized for getting ' busted ' , for the most part it would be forgotten about by now. Fine him, the team, whoever and move on.
IMO, Brady's arrogant attitude about it is what my issue ( and I think plenty of other's ) has been. Not only did he not cooperate with the investigation, he impeded it. Why? Because he was hiding something.
The other players around the league that had/have been suspended for much worse things were/are getting lighter suspensions. The more time that went by with this, I honestly thought that when the ruling came in that the suspension would be atleast cut in half if not more.
Now it's upheld after finding out he destroyed his cell phone. What a stupid move. For one, because he had already refused to turn it over. Secondly, what's the point? His cell phone records can easily be subpoenaed if need be . Those records are not just on the phone itself. It makes no sense to me, but it makes him look even more guilty.
Yes, he's going to take this to court. Hope for a quick injunction so this can drag on forever. It needs to be over. Yes, Tom Brady is going to the Hall of Fame. He's a great QB, he's proven that. None of this changes that. Unfortunately, he has tainted the integrity of the game and it's a shame.
Okay, ramble over. You know I love ya Bob!!

Now it's upheld after finding out he destroyed his cell phone. The DAY he met with Ted Wells, KNOWING they wanted his cell phone records. ( I know that wasn't discovered until June 18th ). What a stupid move. For one, because he had already refused to turn it over. Secondly, what's the point? His cell phone records can easily be subpoenaed and accessed if need be .Those records are not just on the phone itself. It makes no sense to me, but not much about this whole fiasco makes sense anymore.
Yes, he's going to take this to court. He'll hope for a quick injunction so this can drag on forever. It needs to be over. ( He may just get this to stay in limbo until December or January when he will get the 4 game suspension ) . Yes, Tom Brady is going to the Hall of Fame. He's a great QB, he's proven that. None of this changes that. Unfortunately, as far as I'm concerned, he has tainted the integrity of the game and it's a shame.
Will this keep the Pats from making yet another Super Bowl run this year? Probably not. No doubt they are a great team with a lot of talent.
Okay, ramble over. You know I love ya Bob!!
I just want us all to get excited about Football !! GO TITANS!!!
49 days to go!!!
I agree, the integrity of football has now been called into question.
Time to concentrate on what really matters. THE GAME!!
GO NINERS!!!
Go GIANTS!!!
Let me address his cell phone and texting. Goodell knows the players in this crime. He knows who Brady would have texted. Let's start with the assistant coach who claims Brady told him to destroy the cell phones. Question --- why would Brady tell someone to destroy Brady's cell phone unless Brady was not in possession of it. Personally I do not see Brady trusting someone to watch his cell phones and then asking them to destroy it. No evidence exist they were destroyed.... just a bunch of assumptions.... and you know what the same about assume.
Now, if Brady texted anyone why did not Goodell want to see their phones....those phones would contain all texts Brady sent. I understand he did see the two people who handled the footballs and found nothing incriminating on them.
I do know that Brady was talking about appealing to Federal Court (the same court and judge that let Peterson off the hook). Now I read that the NFL is asking a court in Manhattan to uphold the suspension handed down by Goodell. Goodell knows that Brady will win in Federal Court because they have no proof of Brady's direct actions. No record of 12 Colt footballs PSIs taken at halftime (cause only 4 were taken). The court will provide an injunction to allow Brady to play. The problem with this is simple. The case could be heard as early as October and as late as Jan. If the Court should rule, and I said should, in the NFL's favor Brady could miss the playoffs, and yes the Pats will be in the playoffs.
Now if he takes the 4 games, he will be ready for the Super Bowl. I think he can win in Federal Court, particularly if he gets the same judge who heard Peterson's case. NFL has a bad record in any Federal Court. I hope he goes for it. It ain't over till it's over.
No matter what happens and no matter who QBs the team, just remember ---- the Patriots are not about one man. No one man makes the team. Their rookie QB last season proved that. So long as the team is healthy, they will win. Super Bow victory is their's to loose or win.
GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!
We all should have our say. I want us to post and talk about anything in this group as long as we don't attack each other . There are going to be strong opinions regarding topics and that's okay.
I almost said something else.. but I am going to shut up. ( and NOW I know you are REALLY in hysterics at the thought of that.. lol )
Love you Mutley.
GO TITANS!!
I love you guys, even the brady haters!
I don't think Belichek will have much to say.
okay.. I said I had my turn.. but I wanted to reply to you. I really just wish there would be an end to this. I can say that probably most everyone has their opinions about Brady made and they aren't going to change one way or another no matter what happens.. there are Brady Lovers... Brady haters.. and Brady indifferent.. just like with a lot of athletes. The more this drags on, the more opinions and speculation. For what?
Love you!
Take a seat, Son.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft says he was wrong to trust the NFL in the deflated footballs case and that he regrets not appealing the penalties against the team.
Appearing at team headquarters Wednesday, a day after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell upheld a four-game suspension of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Kraft angrily targeted the league for its handling of the case.
Kraft said that the league’s claim that Brady trashed his cellphone was just the latest in a series of statements and leaks designed to impugn the integrity of Brady and the team.
Kraft said, “I have come to the conclusion that this was never about doing what was fair and just.”
My thought --- this was never about deflating footballs or trashing a cell phone. This has been and is about destroying a team and a player who set standards that may never be broken.
Brady offered a deal to Goodell ----- a fine, an apology, and no suspension. Goodell offered a 1 game suspension and for Brady to admit he did this. Brady, to this day, defends his statements that he did nothing wrong. Goodell should have excused himself but he has a vendetta against Brady..this is obvious to even a blind man.
As for Iamstuck -I thought this was a football forum and you can keep politics out of it. You have your right to think what you want, and in a different forum to even express your political views. I've been around here long enough to know that most everyone on DS are hard-boiled conservatives and I have no problem with that. However when you make allegations of someone being responsible for people's deaths -that crossed a line!
Should this kind of thing go on, I won't have a problem leaving this group. No matter how much I love LMT, and I love her very much...I can take a hike, should this be the case.
Okay, G, my rant over. Over and OUT.
E, you're not going to go anywhere!!! Thanks for the well stated and informative post. XX As is being said, the coverup is much more egregious than the crime. And yes, it is a crime.
