Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
Hello daily strengthers,
Someone said it almost seems pointless to be here but it does not have to be. I feel as though I have a food addiction. Meaning, I crave foods and consume them regardless of quanity or quality. But Why? Why do we do this to ourselves knowing it is bad? I rememeber a quote im parphrasing 'you got to love yourself enough to say I know thats going to taste good but i just cant let you do that right now'.
I think with daily strength, it can be an asset to lean/help/aid one another with support. Chat about our experiences, that is always fun, right? How about a Judgment Free Zone?
I have a routine with food usually I eat most when I get home from a long day at work to relax and chill... Soda, chips, cookies, cheese and plenty others. Is the food addictive? What about self control? How about distancing ourselves from temptation?

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

wishing you luck....look into Overeaters Anonymous.....it is a great program that does no shaming....
There are many things we get addicted to but it's hard to describe so I always give an example instead. I tell them, to sit their phone down in plain site and try not to touch it for 24 hours!
I think you answered your own question and didn't realize it. You said you eat most after a long day at work. By long day, I am assuming your job does not make you very happy and might even be bringing up some feelings of fatigue, anger at the long hours and maybe more. You self medicate those negative feelings with food. We all do it!
How do you heal that without food? Maybe get a better job that you like with less hours and more pay? That's what I did and immediately lost 50 pounds over a 6 month period, but it took me 18 years and other addictions to drugs and alcohol before I was motivated enough to give up what little pay and benefits that took 18 years to gain. I reached a point where it was either my job or my life. I was continuously replacing one addiction with another because I was too afraid to face the truth.
That's pretty much the way it is with any addiction. There are always triggers and triggers are the underlying emotional issues that make us look for a drink, or a drug or comfort food or anything to numb ourselves from our feelings.
Hope that explains. I am here to answer any and all questions.
Thankyou for being here.
