Thank you thewhip. Do you know when you have the problem most often?
I know lately it seems when I exercise more. (i.e. when I first started to exercise, then when I increased it. )
We know the goal , what we want to fix. so it will take time , but we can do it.
I think that is pretty normal, ZECILKL. That is why I try to eat a banana after words. Something filling. I usually eat more depending on my sleep schedule. I eat more junk food when my sleep cycle is regular than I do when I don't sleep at all.
Weight loss surgery could be dangerous and I believe should be used only as a last resort. Losing 200+ pounds with diet and exercise is not impossible at all. It will just take a little longer, but if you get a good regular healthy schedule food and exercise wise it will come off in no time. My motto is always"You're are as strong as you believe you are." If you have a good mindset and you believe you can do it, then you know what you can. I know you can do it, kindeyes!
Kindeyes You feel you need surgery to get the weight off. did they say how long it would take after the surgery to lose the weight you need to lose? I know you'll have to eat less and some people get sick if they eat too much or certain foods.. the choice is yours. Just do all the research you can. I would be afraid of surgery, as I'm a scared of surgery. You know yourself and your body. Just make sure it's the right thing for you. I think you could lose the weight if you work on it by yourself. You do need the right mindset for losing the weight. even with surgery. Just because you have the surgery doesn't mean you'll lose faster or even keep it off. Don't want to be a downer but I've heard that some people gain the weight back. I guess it depends on what type of surgery they have. Whatever, you chose. Just know you are supported here. Wishing you the best.
Doing ok.. Just eating out a bit much. Got to 174.1 Sat. then today back to 174.8 lbs. too much salt at dinner last night.
have been doing exercise.. did skip 2 days after completing 10-11 consecutive days. Trying now not to over do it with exercise so I don't get to tired to do it on another day.
Hope everyone is getting some of the nice weather.
I hope we didnt' come off mean. It's we all have different ideas of what needs to be done in our own lives We also, have a had different experiences. So I hope all is well with everyone
We had snow yesterday :(. but it cleared up and now is getting nicer til we get some rain.. who know that may turn not something else LOL
Yes I realize the surgery is very risky and that I could possibly die on the table but I am dying anyways slowly day by day so what do I have to risk nothing much my hands will be in God's hands when the time comes sorry to sound so depressing I hope you're all doing well on your weight take care and God bless you all.
Kindeyes, You have to do what's best for you. I know they put you into counseling before they take people, sometimes they even make them lose a bit of weight before they do the surgery... Just keep us informed on what you plan to do..
How is the exercise you are doing coming along?
Daughter is on spring break.. So, I'm in vacation mode. eating out to much and at times eating to much. My meal times have been off and I think I'm eating more than I should cause I'm over hungry. Also, it seems I've been very tired after exercise. Not getting enough sleep some nights. so that affects my eating too. Just have to work on everything.
You know what is funny everybody finds and excuse to eat, you eat when you are happy, you eat when you are sad, it is like an alcoholic, people will use their children, the holidays, anything they can find, to use when they eat too much... When deep down inside we all just want to over eat that is why we are so fat... Let's face it food tastes good, we live to eat not eat to live... We have an addiction so we find any excuse under the sun to eat... But my girlfriend says she has the same she says... How bad do you want it? And that is true...
I will let you know when I go to my first Dr. meeting what they expect from me or they will even take me with my other medical conditions diabetes being the worst out-of-control.. Take care God bless...
I have looked at all of the risks of surgery and all the complications it looks very scary or I should say sounds very scary so I have thought about this and I have come to the decision to try and lose this with the help of going to see a nutritionist, dietitian diabetic dietitian in my city and with the help and support of you lovely people.. I know it will take me longer but at least I will not have the complications or maybe even death that having the surgery entails.. No matter how bad your life is nobody wants to die, I have over 200 pounds to lose I have a long way to go who knows maybe I will make it maybe I will not I am 50 years old and I am still here my girlfriend told me you deserve more than a applause you deserve a standing ovation I survived cancer and surgery at 390 pounds I thought I would die on the table I guess he does not want me yet upstairs, he is my rock my Savior I turned to God when I am very down and out I pray sometimes he answers sometimes he does not I guess he is busy he cannot always answer you.. Sorry to be so religious I guess it is because I am Catholic and raised religious..
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend I look forward to talking with you in the chat room next week thank you all for being my friends and giving me support you are all such wonderful caring people and I do mean that from the bottom of my heart.. God bless you...
Thank you for the Update on the surgery. You are now 200 lbs and were 390? WOW you did lose a lot of weight already. You can do this. Tell us what did you do to lose the 190 lbs? Don't forget this is not a race.. It's a way of life. You can lose the weight. Maybe, make small goals to get to. Don't make them to large and then you will have things to celebrate. Like maybe, Try to lose the first 5 lbs. Get there and you can maybe, go for 10 lbs. Just talk to the dietitian to see what a good mini goal would be. Think of something you can use as a reward besides food. Maybe, pamper yourself and get a manicure. something that will make you feel good.
Don't worry about being religious , that's who you are. :). We're here for you.
Hello there... You must be mixed up I never lost that amount to weight.. I wish I did.. I am going to try it the natural way my highest weight was 407 pounds, I now weigh 367 pounds, a total loss of 40 pounds... I need to weigh 145 pounds for my height and build... That means I still have to lose 222 pounds... I don't know if I can do it I can only try...
Even 40lbs is a lot of weight. Something to be very proud about. Don't think about the big picture if it feels like too much. break it up into small increments. Though, I don't have as much as you do to lose and I can't imagine how you are feeling 100 plus pounds is still a lot. So for now I am just focusing on 20 at a time. I know you can do it!
So update on one of my goals. I took your advice, ZECILKL and I am focusing on getting more water. It is so hard, but we invested in one of those Ozarka coolers and it has made it all the more helpful. I am up to four glasses a day with a soda or two mixed in. I have sadly started drinking them again. I will be stopping that.
I hope you're all doing well and have a great weekend also!
Kindeyes: sorry about that.. I miss read your comment. Well, your 40 lbs is great. You 've lost and now you can do it again. It will take time. Just be patient. It's great that you joined WLB.
TheWhip. I agree with your advise to Kindeyes. Small goals at a time. That's what I've been trying to do.
Great job with the water. You can keep the soda once in awhile. Just don't say I can't have it. I have learned from experience that then I want something even more. :). LOL You can do this Thewhip.
I'm doing ok. Just holding my own with weight. food is getting better. still trying to exercise as often as possible.
