Fitness Goals Support Group
This community is dedicated to group support around achieving fitness goals, whatever they may be, through personal training, athletic activites, or other strenuous activity. Whether you are trying to get fit to treat a health problem, boost your mood, relieve stress, or tone your body, this group is a great place to meet other like-minded people who have similar goals.

I was a runner years ago and I found out that running one mile will burn approximate 200 calories. It didn't matter how fast I ran as the differences in speed only varied the calories burned by 2 or 3 or something like that. It was a negligible amount which meant I could go for a slow jog and still burn off alot of calories. I think I read that in "The complete book of running", by Jim Fixx.
What that amounted to was that I could run 4 miles a day and eat pretty much anything I wanted and never gain weight but if I ran 6 miles a day, I could still eat anything I wanted and I would lose weight on top of that.
The object is to burn more calories then you are taking in which means counting calories. If you can afford to buy a gym membership, they will give you a trainer the first time you go there and he/she will teach you how to use the machines and will set you up with a program to help you achieve your weight loss goals. I highly recommend. You can also find all kinds of healthy alternatives to high calorie foods, right online.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do and let us know how it goes.
God Bless
